For a start although Cleverly got pretty dam smashed up he got taken out in style that was a proper mans beating...as for Bellew it has to be said he turned his back on Adonis in a scared kind of way....

Completely agree, if anything he kept getting up too early because of his pride.

Watching the build-up to this fight i can honestly say hearing Bellew say the same old things over and over again it's sapping my strength. He says Cleverly contradicts himself all the time. FFS Tony, watch your own interviews, you are a walking contradiction.

I actually like Bellow, but he does try to portray this uncompromising hard man, hard punching image, when in fact he's spent the most recent part of his career struggling to beat journeymen, and when he did step up he was easily stopped.

Meh, I think Cleverley will probably win but Bellew looks good in that video.

Strange he would bring up the Kov loss when he got beatdown by a lesser and smaller fighter. Kov is a beast at LH but Stevenson only has a left hand. Kov is two handed and is strong as an Ox. The fact that Stevenson is staying well clear of Kov is proof enough of his dangerousness and superiority.

No doubt that Clev lost against a better opponent who will soon be the linear champ. Stevenson will lose very soon.

    :good

Kovalev would wipe the floor with Bellew and Stevenson on the same night.

Not really sure why Bellew is spouting off about it to be honest.

For a start.. Kovalev > Stevenson.

Secondly, after giving it big licks beforehand Bellew in reality went out on a bit of a wimper against Stevenson.

The way Bellew was talking before the fight, as if he was going to come out and take the fight to Stevenson etc... well that's really what Clev done but came up short doing.

Clev definitely went out on his shield more so than Bellew, comparing both fights. Think he showed a lot of heart coming out for the round he got stopped in considering he was absolutely ****ed.

The reason bellew hates kovalev is because kovalev is everything he wishes he could be, a huge puncher with brilliant boxing ability that comes forward like a tank. Tony is jealous it's pretty obvious.

Yeah, could well be. He actually met Kovalev when they fought on the same bill in Canada. He said he was a nice guy. But he was still going on after that about Kovalev's people keeping him away from punchers, even though Kovalev appearing on that card was supposed to be a prelude to him and Stevenson squaring off with each other. Kovalev also called out Stevenson during his post-fight interview too. And Kovalev's opponent on that card was Ismail Sillakh who is most definitely a big puncher and is also a fighter Bellew himself has actually spoken about how highly he thought of him on here before.

“I’m very impressed with Kovalev,” said the British star. “I spent time with him when I was in Canada and he’s a gentleman, as well as an incredibly strong fighter. That said there might be a reason why his team (Main Events) avoids putting him in against big punchers.

“Not once has Kovalev been in with someone who can bang and Stevenson knocks out any 175-pound fighter he hits flush. I think Adonis stops Bernard Hopkins and I would also favor him over Kovalev at this point. If I’m wrong and Sergey can take a great shot then he, in my opinion, he is the best light heavyweight in the world.

“I just sense that he might be vulnerable under fire.”

Cleverly lost to Kovalev fighting like a warrior. Bellew ran like a scouser with somebody else's wheel rims before getting bombed.

I've no problem with that it was the **** about Kovalev's handlers keeping him away from punchers that gets me, that and him supposedly gassing in the late rounds and Bellew saying he's a just a puncher and nothing else.

Edit: Apparently the word c-rap has been deemed too offensive now. :patsch

Yeah, that would be nice. The good thing about Bellew is, for those that don't like him, even if he does win on Saturday I don't think we'll have to wait too long to see him get sparked by someone else. There are a lot of big punchers in the top 20 up at CW and I can't see his chin being able to withstand the kind of power some of those guys can dish out. Even the decaying corpse of Brudov hurt him badly with a solitary right hand. He was gone after shipping that shot.
