Did anyone watch the press conference on Thursday ?
Some of the stuff Bellew was coming out with looks hilarious now.
And it proves how downhill Haye had gone to have been knocked out by Bellew. Do people forget that Haye
retired after the Chisora fight in 2012, for the specific reason that he was told by SPECIALISTS that he needed surgery and wasn’t fit to fight no-more.

Bellew has mugged us with two joke loots. And when he finally came up against a live, elite fighter like with Adonis Stevenson we saw what happened.

Saying all that, brilliant fighter given he had no olympic background. And Tony if he indeed does have people who care about should be telling him TO RETIRE IMMEDIATELY.

Just watched the fight as I was out earlier. Nether mind the fight, im in disbelief that the interviewer (who’s name escapes me) is conducting a prolonged interview with a clearly concussed Bellew..absolutely outrageous IMO.

I used to like Tony, but his “act” of being some kind of unhinged lunatic grew very old, very quickly. It was like some poor wrestling gimmick, and it was done by a scouser.

Not entering the CW tournament left a real sour taste in my mouth, and the cash-grabs against Haye were shocking.

Then the talk of him being some ungodly puncher was so far fetched. A bunch of guys at CW are MUCH bigger bangers than Tony.

He has only stepped up against the best in his division twice, and he got stopped badly both times. He talked like he was the north’s answer to Arturo Gatti at times but he was nothing of the sort.

I was relieved to see him stopped because it would have been unbearable to see the sky hype machine go into overdrive with his gimmick for weeks on end for a fight.

Careful matchmaking, the bottle to say whatever was needed to sell a fight, and no shame in fighting a has-been, and avoiding top competition got him the big money.

That said, Usyk is a monster. I’d like to see him face Dorticos to just clear the division out. Bellew must retire now. He’d make a great pundit and he’d tow the line anyway.
