For some reason I find this guy really annoying. One thing I have heard him say is that Joshua is the fastest combination punching heavyweight, something I disagree with but today I heard him say he is the fastest since Tyson... I just so happened to be watching the gorilla productions video of Tyson today... Don't get me wrong, Joshua is a beast and a machine and an impressive athlete but dillian whyte was quicker than him before he gassed, he's not slow, especially for his size but come on...
AJ has medium level punching speed compared to other HW strap holders. He is hardly faster than someone like Tyson, who overcame severe height and reach advantages to be a wrecking machine and elite hw. A lot of AJs success against smaller men comes from size and reach advantage, not insane boxing skills. Despite saying all that he still knocks Wlad out. Wlad has an incurable disease called punchitis. He could also go on to have a good career as a HW champion, no where near as great as the mighty Lennox lewis, but still good.
Nonsense, Joshua is extremely quick. Have you seen his recent IFL training clips? Jesus Christ. And yes, I know mits don't hit back but this guy is the fastest heavyweight going today and the Wlad fight will come down to who can get their straight punches off quicker - which will be AJ!
I'd agree Joshua's hands are very very fast for a heavy his feet aren't though which brings Wlad into it
Haye had faster hands and feet than Joshua when he was HW world champion. Apart from that it's not too bad a claim from Bellew. A few of the smaller ex-CW HWs will obviously be faster. Povetkin has great hand speed, Cunningham was quick. But for the monster 6'5"+ SHWs, yeah Joshua easily has the fastest hands.
He is quick for his size...but to compare him to prime Tyson? I'd also doubt he's the fastest heavyweight...
It's no good having fast hands if your feet are slow. Anyone can throw mindless rehearsed combos at speed either on pads or bags. With a live opponent it's all about timing and speed of reaction not merely handspeed
Vlad is a quick fighter and is looking extremely good in training......................Vlad has great foot work, balance, combinations, right hand, left hook, left jab, power jab, hook off the jab, etc., great defense also.................stamina, head movement...................if Whyte can stagger/hurt Joshua, then what will happen if Vlad lands a power punch? This is what makes the fight so exciting..................don't forget the experience factor. I expect Vlad to come fight more like his old self.................he out classed Joshua in sparring not too long ago, so this could be a real good fight afterall...........
He has good hand speed but it isn't blistering. I'm not convinced his hands are much quicker than Wlad's in his prime to be honest.
Nah, he's not noted for speed or combinations imo. Bellews kissing his friends ass a bit too much here to be taken seriously
He didn't say he was faster than Tyson he said he was the fastest since Tyson, which is a fair comment although I would say Haye in his prime & maybe even still today has faster hands.
For a guy his size Joshua has quick hands, he usually loads up massively though which negates that. I remember one fight where he threw a 3/4 punch combination with the opponent on the ropes and it was obvious from that tiny snippet that he does have the speed, just tends not to really use it.
Lennox Lewis was faster. Joshua's not fast in general. He can let them go quicker when he's not loading up but it's just ordinary for his size. Hardcore helmet?...haha
