Not necessarily so, last big pay cheque before he retires. Uysk is the man at cw.

So, if true, Bellew intends to return to CW? That's surprising.

Either way, I find it a little surprising. I was expecting the rematch with Haye, then win or lose, one final match before retiring against a domestic UK foe (Joshua, Fury, Whyte, Price).

Usyk will out box Bellew. I saw Usyk beat Joyce, who is 6 feet 6 inches tall.................he beat him easily...............

What if he beats Haye but the last man standing in the WSBB happens to be Gassiev?

Same deal, Bomber, you still want it? :deal:

Plus, if he loses to Usyk it'll most likely be via gentlemanly decision. He may get 120-108'ed, but still, he won't suffer the indignity of being KTFO in his cash-out swansong. Note he didn't extend this call-out to anybody that happens to emerge from the WSBB victorious, as I think Bellew fully well realizes that Gassiev would do him worse than Stevenson did at light heavy.

Crazy. Rewind about five years to when nobody took Bellew seriously, and he was mostly known for having a) lost to Cleverly in a domestic clash to determine who graduated to world level and who get left in the dust b) gotten KTFO by Stevenson, and c) gotten a gift draw over Chilemba. Who then would have believed that he would, starting in 2014, jump to Cruiser and embark upon a 9-0 (7) tear with six of those nine being very respectable names all culminating in a leap up to heavy to knock out David Haye, with two major talents jockeying for p4p honors (one a recent claimant of the uppermost spot before retiring, the other zeroing in on it) set to play tug-of-war over him as their most desired next big-payday opponent?

I dont get the hate Bellew receives.

Anyways.... would be a fun matchup, obviously Usyk will be the heavy favorite but I wouldnt mind seeing the fight and it would be nice exposure for him.

These guys will never cross paths just like the GGG/Cotto stuff that was being bandied about. however Usyk/Bellew is even less likey. Bellew is just a media savvy gad fly keeping his name active in a division gaining in prominence. He is more P.T. Barnum at this stage.

Bellew stands the same chance fighting Joshua. It's a no hope fight. While I can see Usyk bringing some money to the fight if he wins wbss I would have thought he would have preferred getting his neck extended by a foot for 10 mil against Joshua.

I'd be surprised if Bellew doesn't retire after the Haye fight, making big money off that and has let slip a few times he just wanted a cashout fight before he packs it in doesn't want to box on and take punishment
Maybe talking about Usyk to make himself look relevant in the CW landscape and not look like a ducker, which he really is tbh holding the title hostage

Exactly. Bellew doesn't want to get knocked out, partly because he's concerned about his health and partly because it isn't the greatest way to finish a career.

So he wouldn't fight Gassiev, but is willing to fight Usyk. Likewise he would fight Fury if he could (but Fury will likely sign with Warren which ends that) but refuses to fight Joshua or Wilder.

And he's done it all while neatly side-stepping the killers at cruiser, and the heavies who would take his head off his shoulders. Bomber floats like a butterfly outside of the ring, that's for sure.

Correct. But Bellew's wife/family were really concerned for his health when he took the first fight versus Haye (remember many people thought it was a fight which shouldn't have even been sanctioned and Bellew even wrote his will before the fight) and he doesn't want to put them through that (and more) again vs Joshua.
