So he did everything he could do to avoid fighting Briedis and now wants someone to believe he’ll step in the ring with someone who beat him? Nahh. Ain’t happening, but if the fight does materialise, as a form of cashing out, Usyk will school him.
A very good point. Having a bust up face while hitting air is nothing to waking up in hospital with a bust up brain. The whole game is about risk though. However I do think that usyk will begin to bring a fair bit of money to the table if he should beat the other finalist and win the wbss. Couple that with Bellew being at Matchroom and Eddie being a good marketer, and you have a nice cash out after Haye. I would think Usyk would take this fight also.
Also just thought. It might be a play by Hearn to get involved with Usyk. Cash Bellew out on him and either help promote him for more CW battles or for when he moves up?
Yes, I could see that happening. Hearn would have the leverage to at least get options on Usyk, if not co-promotional status. Hearn gets on well with K2. In that way Hearn can insure himself if Usyk beats any of his top cruisers or heavies.
Briedis hits really hard, Bellew doesn't want to go out cold. He's perfectly happy to have a swollen face and a schooling from Usyk though.
Your logic is sound, sir. I suppose he didn’t want to get his backside handed to him back then and in that lose the opportunity to get some money. After Haye fight (s) he’s got enough and money from Usyk fight would be a nice bonus.
