Claims he doesnt usually feel punches,well maybe thats because hes never been hit like that before.This is probably the only world class opponent Bellew has ever face and he was beaten quite handily.Think a move back to domestic level is more appropriate than a move up in weight.
This isn't surprising.He can do well at the new weight,a new broom and all that.Theres an obvious rematch down the line that could be interesting.
bellew does look a bit drained at LHW and at least at cruiser there is a potential big domestic rematch with clevs
He looks VERY drained @ LHW. Look at his legs - Thin as you like. And for his height he is well underweight.
He's nearly the same height as Haye is he not? Never understood why he insisted on fighting at 175, he ALWAYS look really, really drained. Comes in bang on the weight, must be a serious struggle.
in the ABAs he was sparking people as a heavy I reckon a move up to cruiser would suit him and mean he has more power
He's gone as far as he can as a light-heavyweight I think - he looked really gaunt in that interview like there's nothing around his torso and shoulders because he's boiled it all off. A move up to cruiser would give him another 21lb so he could have some room to maybe do some weights to give him some real power and more punch resistance.
TBH he looked fleshy last night in a pic posted on twitter before the fight. I think he's best taking 6 months out. Get the weight on the right way and recover from 3 extremely hard fights this year for differing reasons. I think Cruiser suits him more, His legs looked really skinny on scales and his general frame always has seemed like it's frail looking. I think those 6 months off he can also work on refining technique and adding the necessary muscle to right areas. I thought he showed some world class boxing skills last night but sadly his offense wasn't up to speed. His game plan wasn't one i hoped for but i understood what he wanted to do but it's always the danger when you get stopped you get the feeling ''what if?..''. He will be back, Cleverly to me is the one i'm worried about i don't see it working out for him. His mindstate also seems really damaged compared to Bellew who seemed to take it well enough.
hid only other option is to retire... i support this decision though the one to move up in weight... needs to put on some solid muscle
