Bellew is right, WIlder is just horrid skillwise. He also doesn't take a particularly good punch, as Nichols and Sconiers, among others, have shown.

You have to be skilled to be what many consider to be a "one trick pony", yet always manage to land that "one trick". Definately not the least skilled champion in history but probably one of the most under appreciated.

Tony Bellew is spot on, or certainly not far from the truth. Wilder’s got a big punch with a good sense of timing, and that’s about it, so I can’t really see what there is to debate there, or hugely disagree about. He is what he is.

I think Bellew needed to be more specific here. I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt, and say he meant legitimate champions/long reigning champions.

If this is the case then Bellew has some valid points; Wilder’s inability to put together meaningful combinations is a rarity at the top level, as is his lack of composer at times.

I would say that it works for him, but honestly, he was given a helping hand against Ortiz, which may or may not have saved him. He also lost to Fury. So, the two times he’s upped his level of opposition to a respectable level he’s delivered questionable performances.

That`s because he was fighting Fury.

He has stated he is too small to fight big heavies like Wilder, he was only saying Wilder lacked fundamentals not power.

You can be heavyweight champ with no skill but Wilder is far more skilled than a lot of heavy champs from down the years.

Hes referring to boxing ability. Which hes probably correct. He can have all the skills he wants if he cant put them together whats the use ? Hes just lucky he's 6'7 and fast. Like I said relying on knock outs eventually comes to an end for EVERY boxer. ,much better boxers then him who fought MUCH better opponents to.

This came at Tyson Fury fight not including Stiverne 1 who was actually in shape that time . He lost one of those fights we all know it. Hes going to have a difficult time now unless he fights guys out of the top 10. He only got Ortiz because he slowed down with the pace he was moving and punching up at the taller Wilder.

Wilders skills put together is probably a 4 out of 10. Cant throw combos properly if at all with more then 2 punches involved. Cant balance himself half the time going forward throwing hard shots ,that's why he likes opponents coming to him . Really all his hooks aren't technical ,there just thrown Wildly with speed so it hides the lack of technique. Wilder has a very good one/ two when he sets himself but this isn't saying a lot , and defensively the guy cant react to jabs properly or punches being thrown at him so his defense is not good at all with taller guys.

Anyone reading this better pay real close attention to that Breazeale fight if it comes through . lol

This is not groundbreaking news although Charles Martin pushed him close.

What is Breazales reach and why would he be able to take WEilder`s power, surely he can`t slip shots as well as Fury did, what`s so special about this Breazale anyway sounds like another Michael Grant to me.
