Bellew should face a top cruiser now...

All the best cruisers are tied up in the WBSS so now is the time to move back down

 

Not going to go back down to CW, not at his age with one fight left in him.

 

Bellew got what he wanted from CW - an easy way to call himself a 'world' champion. He got incredibly lucky with the timing... if he rocked up in the division today he'd be knocked straight out of it.

The sooner people make peace with the idea that Bellew is an 'event' fighter the better. Don't try to apply normal boxing logic to him.

 

All the top cruiserweights are tied up.

 

Glowacki isn't. His place in the tourney got snatched by either Perez or Wloda, so that's an option for Bellew to get his face punched in

 

He got paid 20x more for fighting Haye than the world title.

All he can do is sit it out and fight Haye.

 

Lol his trainer is coming out and saying there’s no chance he’d fight Fury either. So he wants to be a heavyweight champion but is only willing to fight Parker. Surely he should be calling everyone out considering how he makes himself out to have a screw loose and loves being punched in the face?

 

I get the criticism of Bellew but is he really doing anything a lot of other fighters don’t already do? It doesn’t make any sense to get in the ring with one of the big cruiserweight boys for very little money nor get smashed to bits off a big heavyweight. He’s 35 and coming to the end of his career, why would he do that, to satisfy a few hardcore boxing fans? He’s secured his legacy, he’s made his money and he still has his health. He’s using his head...none of us in his shoes would do any different. You go for the biggest reward for the lowest risk. That’s human nature.

It looks like he’s got 2 fights left...a tin can job to keep himself active and a big fight to finish on. Not bad for a unfashionable, podgy scouser.
