Quite possibly. Quite pleased for him, but he's terrible: wild swings and no accuracy, often forgets any game plan, gasses quickly...

Anyone worse? Darren Barker maybe? Nice guy, though.

Charles Martin if you removed the 'British' bracket, certainly.

Not even the most technically limited British Cruiser to win a world title.
Does anyone remember Glenn McCrory as IBF champ? :blood

he does usually have massive weaknesses and i do think he can be wildly inaccurate but he did well to win against an opponent many tipped to beat him.

Froch could look technically awful - not bringing his jab back, squaring up, loading up on shots. Leading with his face and not having his guard up.

Barker while not the best world champion was usually technically very good. His left hook was a bit robotic but that's about it.

Hatton was weak against Leftie so you could argue that was a massive technical flaw.

Ironically what about Naz would ever teach someone to fight like him? You could argue technique wise he was awful

The pre-kronk Dennis Andries was as crude a world champion as I've ever seen. He had a minimal amateur background and came late to the sport.

Manny Steward once said that when Andries arrived it wasn't a case of teaching an old dog new tricks, as he didn't actually know any tricks.

Whatever you want to say about Bellew, he's considerably more polished than Andries was.

By what standards? Over hypes fights, yes

Rushes in sometimes - perhaps going against the game plan but makes it more exciting. Was criticised when he was too cagey

Is a three times ABA champion so can't be that bad. Just won WBC belt when most were saying he would get KO'd. Wouldv'e been interesting if Makubu caught him again in the third, but he didnt. Does that make Bellew limited or good at noticing when he has him man in trouble

Bellew isn't a bad boxer at all.

These forums can be strange places at times. Bellew massively underrated and the like of Parker and povetkin massively over rated

I dislike Bellew as a person he should have lost the fight with Issac Chilemba which was ruled a draw and acted as though he clearly won. He is just a horrible personality.

As a fighter however, while overated by sky pundits, he has improved to the point where he is a decent world champion.
