Bellew is going to adapt the same tactics as in the Stephenson fight and keep his distance circling the ring round after round in the hope that Haye tires. This will be the Stephenson fight mk II.
The only adapting he will do is adapt to not pretending he's a heavyweight or that he's not doing this just for the money. Between them this might be the biggest set up against the fans and boxing public in recent history. Still who knows....Trump getting the nod was an impossibility at the start of the campaign and by fight night he was nearon favourite and he did it! Who knows.......
Bold prediction, I do like a bold prediction. Personally I think Haye pretty much ends this when he likes, Haye is looking extremely good in the gym, very fast, sharp and very powerful but I do understand that's just the gym. We will see, almost anything is possible in boxing, I've seen enough upsets, the build up should be good and fight night should be a crazy atmosphere.
I think it's going to be a pretty boring fight in all honesty. 1-2 rounds of Haye feeling him out/ not throwing much and then blasting him. Exactly the same as Maccarinelli.
The difference being Enzo Mac was willing to stand and trade with Haye. Who really thinks Bellew will stand and trade?
Bellew won't trade. He'll use his advantage of being more light-footed and stay out the way. The question for me is, can Haye ignore the crowd and Bellew's goading and stick patiently to the plan, round after round, knowing that for him to be given his big shot against Joshua he's got to bang Bellew out, and bang him out early? It's not so much about the physicality for me (which Haye wins all day long) but the psychological. Anxiety burns so much fuel. A question to everyone, if Haye doesn't stop him early as predicted, what then?
Haye is patient in the ring he will be on the backfoot looking for 1 and 2 punch heavy counters. I don't think Haye will deviate from his game plan if anyone its Bellew who will get dragged into a war too early. Bellew basically needs educated pressure mixed with the odd heavy shot to keep things interesting and sap Haye a little. Neither a massive body punchers (watch someone get eviscerated!) so its going to be fought at range If Haye doesn't stop him early it gets blamed on ring rust - Toney gets a pat on the back. Performances normally get talked over as long as Haye gets a stoppage that's all the focus the marketing people need to set up a match with AJ - (although I'd want him to fight a known heavyweight who at leat poses a threat) If Haye is down on the cards late and is swinging for the fences in desperation it could get interesting but I still feel this is Haye's fight to loose if he is a shadow of himself.
WOW Tony wins in 9 , Tony wins at all, wow. I have a big bet coming, double on hammer and Haye , not counting chickens but.....it is a MISS MATCH. All for the cash but thats great, hope both cream it but....Bellew wins and stops him, my god, go to the bookies son like you did for haye /Harrison, what price did you get on Price i wonder........no wonder i read not post
I think it will be an explosive first round Then Bellew will start to try and keep a distance and outbox Haye and will then start to take over a tiring Haye after about 6 rounds Haye will then give up as it is in his nature His last two fight have been against the worst opponents possible in fact one went down that dramatically he got booed and shamed into getting up I would go.as far as saying this fight was obviously fixed. What else could it be Haye is all about the show and look at me I think if Haye ever fights a live opponent again he will get stopped And as usual Haye fights a ex light heavy but Bellew could be the live one that showman Haye was not expecting him to be
There seems to be a lot of interest in this fight. In a sane world this wouldn't even be a final eliminator for a British heavyweight title. 30 years ago this might have been a nice one for York Hall on a Saturday afternoon. Nowadays it's a "PPV event".
