I have been bewildered for years on the popularity/opinion of David Haye...

I can only come to the conclusion that it is a homo-erotic thing where blokes admire his hair and abs??because he has done next to **** all in a ring as a heavyweight and that must span over 10 years...

Well he's British, a HW, has a good KO highlight reel, and is pretty good at selling himself and fights, plus people are drawn to the HW division more than any other division.

Someone earlier mentioned that they are amazed that the Haye/Bellew I fight sold, especially after Haye had just fought two bums on Dave during his comeback. Things is though Mark De Mori was billed as a top 10 fighter, of course we can argue about how good he actually is, but one of the ABC's did have him ranked in the top 10, and Haye knocking him out in the first or second round or whatever it was made a lot of people think "yep, he's back!".

yeah I noticed that, I was surprised. I think I posted on here a few times about my confusion at people still thinking Haye would win. if someone, who relies on speed and reflexes, had to retire 4 years previously because his shoulder reconstruction hadn't fixed his problem, then came back and ruptured his achilles and tore his bicep, I couldn't understand how that person could be favourite

 

Haye is a great salesman that's why and has the image.

 

The easiest £20 to ever leave my pocket ppv's. Beers few lads round and its a cheap night, Chinese or curry and its still a cheap night..I wasn't excited at all for Fury v Parker either, but its pennies if you love boxing

Jurgen..you really hate PPV'S and i can't really see why...why does it make you mad if someone buys a PPV...are you broke, cant you afford them?

PPV is simply an irrelevance anyway as I watch these in bars.

It is simply wrong to charge existing Sky Sport Subscribers, who have already paid for boxing, a £19.99 extra payment to watch a fight for a Marks & Spencer belt.

Not condoning this but a lot more than 750k simply use their HDMI lead for watching on the TV or Laptop.

What I hate is conmen like Haye & Bellew sailing off into the sunset with millions of pounds of mugs money, who are so thick they get conned time and again.

Tony Dosh will never spend 1% of what he has already earned in 10 lifetimes yet this particular drug dealing racist wants to become a billionaire.

When Eh Day says this the fight everybody wants to see, then why in a population of 55m, much less than 2% of the population actually watch it on PPV?

With relentless advances in technology, people in 20 years time will be laughing at all those people who attached a bin lid to their houses to watch TV.

The monopoly of Sky is over and when they are fighting to win over customers, people will remember the mass shafting and watch elsewhere.

Never bought a PPV, never missed a fight I wanted to watch and never will.

No problem mate - many feel the same way.

Whyte v Parker feels to me like the footballing equivalent of Millwall v Birmingham City on PPV or a County Championship cricket match instead of IPL or England Test.

The rot started at Sky 5 years ago and now they are losing so much sport and subscribers.

People are paying much higher for far less and when that don't change you eventually end up like House of Fraser or even Woolworths.

 

No, as long as Sky have the Preimer League they are good. Sport is the Only Thing which Linear TV will always gurantee rating and subs. However for Boxing, Sky should be learning from the lessons 7/8 Years ago, when they started putting rubbish such as Haye-Harrison and Khan Fights on PPV then it became too much and Sky Box Office got shut down. Too many Garbage PPV's, the last real entertaining one was Brook-Spence in May 2017.
