People are no longer being entertained by the Premier League.

If somebody told me 10 years ago that West Ham v Man Utd and Brighton v Man Utd would be live on Sky and I would be watching Charlton v Shrewsbury and Partick v Ross County instead - I would have said they were mad but this happened.

The reason is that I am 100% bored by Jose teams and most managers in the EPL. For every decent game there are 12 stinkers. That is why I watched these other games and surprisingly actually enjoyed both.

Man City, Spurs and Liverpool games were worth watching last year but the rest stunk out the league.

The money forked out for the Premier League has peaked at obscene levels and hopefully will continue to reduce in line with mainly drab entertainment.

No Champions League, no Europa League and now no Spanish League - the rot has set in and the ship needs to be diverted away from the rocks.

You do realise that champions league ratings are far lower then the premier league right. Even whey sky had CL rights the PL always rated higher.

Love it when people claim sky are losing so much sport when all they can back it up with is champions league rights which were lost 3 years ago.

Sky are never gonna be able to hold on to everything. That would be totally unrealistic but at the same time they have kept the majority of big sports

They hold majority of cricket rights. They still hold PGA Golf, still hold rugby league in the UK and now have the NRL. Still hold majority of the NFL. Still hold F1, still hold England rugby union home and away internationals. Still hold the football league.

I mean please tell me which of all these sports that sky are losing.

Going back to the champions league really doesn't cut it. Also BT way overpaid and is the reason they didn't even try to compete with sky for the best PL block of TV matches.

BT know they can't keep throwing money at sports without passing costs on to customers.

Sky never had UFC and never made an offer last time rights went to tender. They lost Australian home cricket internationals yes but kept England cricket rights. West Indies cricket rights, India cricket rights, South Africa cricket rights, NZ cricket rights. BT sport won one set of cricket rights and you are saying that's a win lol

Sky lost Aviva premiership rugby union but kept hold of England internationals, NZ internationals, Australian internationals etc etc. Again are you gonna claim that's a win for BT. Lol

You haven't proven one bit that sky are losing loads of sports. It's actually laughable if you think BT has a wider coverage of major sports. You know the ones that drive subscriptions.

Also where are you getting this sky have lost loads of football from. Losing la Liga Is not loads of football when you hold on to everything else you have.

Oh and the sky monopoly of holding every sport was over years ago long before BT sport came along. Seriously go do some research on this stuff.

Did Sky not previously broadcast Champions League Football, Europa League Football, La liga Football, German Football, French Football, Italian Football, Pork n Cheese Football, Australian Football, Brazil Football, England U21, Conference Football, Women's Football.

That is one hell of a facial load even for your huge gob

Exactly! It's not that Sky wanted to lose the Champions League. They bid, but BT bid 2X more. Anyway Sky were proved right, look at BT's Situation now, their in tumoil, CEO got sacked for spending too much money on Sports/Football Rights. Linear Tv in general is declining that is the problem. It wont be long until TV License fees will be hit and decrease. Netflix, Amazon Prime and Online Streaming is the future. Live Sports is the only saving grace for Linear Tv, even then ratings are steady not spectacular.

Wow! You really don't have an actual clue what you are talking about. Sky last showed german football in 1990. I mean are you really counting that as a football competition they have lost. Lol

Do you even know who held the German rights before BT sport. Was Setanta before they went bust then ESPN.

Sky have never showed french ligue 1 and again it was broadcast by setanta before BT sport. Sky last showed Italian league football in 1991 before deciding to not renew contract as they just won the premier league rights for 1992.

Channel 4, bravo, setanta then ESPN before BT Sport. Like I said please go do some research.

Pretty damn sure sky never showed the Australian soccer competition. Setanta broadcast it before BT sport. Also why would sky want the A-League when they have the premier sport in Australia which is rugby league.

Brazilian football. Again that was Setanta sports who held the rights. Conference football sky did lose.

Women's football I can't remember if sky held them rights.

So basically you don't have any idea what you competitions where broadcast by sky sports.

Yeah don't let real facts get in the way. Some people still believe in this fantasy land where BT sport can throw as much money as they want at sports rights. They can't and shareholders are not happy.

13,000 job cuts, BT sport not getting the subscription numbers projected they thought they would.

BT Do not give a toss about subs, that's Sky's Buisness Model. BT's Strategy was to use the Preimer League and Champions League as bait to lure in Broadband Customers. It has failed. BT TV Numbers are not all that secure aswell. I would rather be Sky than BT let's just say...

Saunders, Fury, Yarde, Dubious and Frampton. That is what their plan looks like. So Saunders-Canelo, Saunders-Golovkin, Frampton v Santa Cruz 3, Frampton v Quigg 2. BT have also got an eye on Fury v Joshua.
