I agree with the first part. I’m a red and the stuff he comes out with used to irritate me. That win against Makabu is one of the greatest stories of all time then he gets on the mic screaming “Everton aren’t we”. Cringeworthy shite all the time.

If he doesn’t beat Usyk name me your British 10 P4P without him?

You see I disagree with you. I think Usyk pulls away from the start. I think from round 1 Usyk picks up pretty much every round but it will go the 12 and Tony will be a live fighter all the way. But I don’t think there’s any shame in that whatsoever.

You don’t beat Chilemba, Masternak, picking up European titles, Makabu picking up a world title and even the likes of Clev was above domestic level.

Got to disagree with Bellew being World Class and a warrior. There there are so many belts flying around that resulted in many mediocre fighters becoming World Champions - eg Charles Martin was a World Heavyweight Champion.

Bellew had the chance to prove both in the WBSS Cruiserweight competition and bottled it to fight a Crippled Toe for the money.

Bellew is a World Class Salesman specialising in selling Bull Dung to mugs.

But his now fighting #1 CW in the world with all the belts. Bellew doesn't need the fight yet his ready to fight the undisputed, unified CW champion.

If that's not aiming for the stars I don't know what is.

Bellew should not even be entertaining this fight if he doesn't care about a legacy and going down in history. The fact that he is suggests his managed his career very well to get to this point.

Made a very quick list (British P4P last decade) as it stands today and I may have missed somebody. Could require a separate thread. This is a rough order and places 2-10 could easily be rearranged.

    1. Calzaghe
    2. Froch
    3. Fury
    4. Hatton
    5. Haye
    6. Joshua
    7. Khan
    8. Frampton
    9. Groves
    10. Brook

Honorable mentions: Burns, Bellew, Burnett, Woods, Murray

That is a quick list, fair play. Think about folk like Jamie Moore and Ryan Rhodes. Never won world titles but they were better fighters than Bellew.
Kevin Mitchell and maybe even John Murray were better.

I get your point and they should be included in the honorable mentions however they have not done enough to make a top 10 p4p list. A separate list for fighters who never won a world title would throw up some great names. There are still loads of British fighters who have won world titles who haven't made the list. It's very hard to find any reasonable order as there are so many variables in play. As you mentioned there are boxers who never won world titles who are probably better fighters than ones who have due to a multitude of reason like promotional issues, injuries or just luck. Any type of list like this will always be subjective, many would have Bellew in the top 10.

Yes with lots of variables to take into consideration, it is very hard creating accurate lists.

I'm not convinced Tony gets to the end.

"Bottled it and fought cripple toe"

OK Tony you have two choices

#1 ypu can go in this tourney with a buncha eastern euros nobody's ever heard of for a half decent payday

#2 you can fight the biggest name in uk boxing for the last 10 years for mega $$$$

I'm sure YOU would have definatley gone for the former in that position right?

    I am

Usyk had absoloute life and death vs bredis and arguably lost that one.

He's not unbeatable and Bellew is better than a lot of you wish.

Calzaghe just misses the cut by a few weeks. Burns yeah he should be in there. Brook shouldn’t be in there IMO. I’d have Burns and Bellew in for Calzaghe (ineligible) and Brook. Question mark over Khan too. Hatton shouldn’t really be eligible either, one win in last 10 years over Paulie and that’s it.
