according to Eddie Urn https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/...tony-bellew-unlikely-denis-lebedev-mandatory/ Bellew had no intention of fighting him anyway, we all know he only wants guys coming out of retirement or past it. Bellew vs RJJ 2018 !!
Well why not Bellew v Whyte both dislike each other both now " ppv " stars , so both can make a **** load of cash!
I thought Bellew absolutely wanted Usyk. The guy's been fighting at HW for awhile now, he would have no reason to call out a CW at CW unless he thought well of his chances and wanted the fight.
Never saw this fight happening tbh. Bellew and Eddie never fancied this. Bellew should turn around and say "i dont need one stinking belt i am going to smash him up and become the best cruiserweight that ever lived." But that wont happen.
because Bellew knows he'd lose and he only wants to fight people who have been out of the ring for a few years
Isn't Bellew still the champion in recess with the WBC. Heard he was given it when he moved up to fight Haye but not sure if he lost it since. If he is couldn't he force a mandatory with the WBC?
Bellew is a clown. He only fights shot and old opposition like Haye where he has not to face a threat at all. He is anxious getting hurt in the ring so he is well protected.
I think the step aside money is the only reason this mandatory has been called. No kidding... Hearn's 'this fight won't happen in 2018' is the response. In other words lower your expectations Denis.
Lebedev, the last leftover from an atrocious cruiserweight division where Marco Huck, a stupid and rudimentary fighter ruled for years, it speaks volumes for the cruiserweight division that Lebedev is still a contender. Let's face it, the cruiserweight division was always the dumpster for guys who can't compete at heavyweight because they're either not good enough or too small.
