To be honest he had quite an easy route to the WBC mandatory spot, Bolonti and Chilemba weren't really great fights to prepare him for someone like Adonis Stevenson.

 

Stevenson made it clear tonight that he does not want anything to do with Kovalev. He wants Hopkins and Froch.............

 

I think he's looking at the money fights and Kovalev is not money.

 

Nope. Every time they say "If the money's right" it means no. He clearly doesn't want any of Kovalev. Frankly who can blame him..

 

I'm afraid to say looked out of his depth tonight, performance was very poor.

 

Stevenson will make triple what he will make fighting Kovalev if he fights Hopkins or Froch.Boxing is business its about money and making as much as you can as quickas you can without getting yourself beaten up in the process.I dont think Adonis Stevenson is afraid of anybody,he's simply out to make money.Frankly who can blame him..

Dont be such a smart arse,Kovalev is not a draw he's unknown to the casuals and he doesnt bring in PPV revenue like Bernard Hopkins or Carl Froch.Gate and PPV revenue usually double or triple a fighters purse depending on how well the event sells.

Not for the first time,I was wrong.Hate to say it,but Im afraid you're right about Stevenson.At least Bellew did better than his last 2 opponents,2 very good fighters.The unification screams out now,its got to be Kovalev,winner to fight Ward down the line.Father time will get Stevenson,sooner rather than later hopefully.

Everyone knows Kovalev/Stevenson is THE fight. And EVERYONE knows Stevenson wants no part of Kovalev. It's fkn obvious. :deal

Kovalev/Stevenson would be HUGE, and sooner or later Stevenson will have to face him, enough with all this "The money needs to be right" or "Me and Hopkins is what the fans want" bollocks.

It's not that Froch, Hopkins etc are MORE money. They're EASIER money until Kovalev KO's him and ends the gravy train, that''s all..

But hey, Stevenson did what he had to do last night, and he deffo deserves that holiday after this year's schedule.

 

I agree with your earlier post saying Stevenson isn't afraid of anybody but is looking for the best paydays.But wasn't there significance of him and Kovalev being on the same bill last night?Looked to me that they were trying to set it up.Froch is a very brave man,has fought everybody,but at this stage Id bet my house hell go nowhere near Stevenson.Cant see Hopkins wanting it either.Surely he won't get away with avoiding Kovalev?I don't think he will.Public opinion will force it if they both keep winning,unless theres barriers like Pac/Mayweather.I think it will happen,its got to.
