Thought his punch variation was far better than at Light-heavy. Better delivery, more cuter, improvised etc. At light-heavy it was like he was trying to punch a fly but he threw his shots with far more conviction and thought tonight. Decent performance.
Not a bad performance, but you cannot read to much into it. Brudov has lost both his world title challenges, has averaged around one fight per year since 2009. Never beaten anyone of note. Forget the KO ratio, no one of any note in there either.
I'm pleased for Tony Belew. He looks a lot more natural at CW than the gaunt looking figure he was at LHW. Next up I'd like to see him against Cleverly who's on obviously another guy moving up from LHW and then a another fight and then fight for a world title. If he loses then so what; he's better finding out if he can cut it or not sooner rather than later because why should any boxer take more punches than they need to? I certainly think he's going to get more opportunities within fights at CW because he can set his feet and load up more. Good luck to he guy.
It wasn't a great performance from Bellew at all. He took about 5 rounds off to have a breather, no world level operator will let you do that. He was extremely hurt and quite lucky that he was hit with a low blow to recover. He got hit with god knows how many clean hard jabs and most of Bellews explosive hard punches hit nothing but gloves. He got the knockout which was good after the beating he got against Stevenson but his stamina and overall punch output is poor.
This :deal I think he will perform better at CW, he clearly struggled to get down to lightheavy and it showed.
But Haye never went down against Monte Barrett? On the topic question though, Tony showed power in the closing rounds which is promising. Decent performance.
