As has been said, you need to eat breakfast, eat smaller meals throughout the day. Start an eating journal, write down everything that goes in your mouth. Including fluids. Don't worry about calorie breakdown at first. Just get used to logging everything. If possible try not to eat after 6 or 7 pm. You won't burn it off. Try to incorporate some high intensity training into your routine. Try to drink as much water as you can, cut out sodas and juice. If you must have flavor put lemon juice in your water. Do not avoid fat, just get the right kind, it protects your vital organs and some vitamens need fat to be absorbed in the body. Avoid sugar like the plague, read the ingridients of everything you eat. Your diet must be clean especially as you get older or that gut isn't going anywhere.
I'm in the same boat returning to training as a 31 yr old..........Although I still have decent arm & shoulder definition I have tits like pam anderson & Im struggling to shake them..........I know its diet related so what do think....a training rota for the older fella would be nice...!!!!...lol
its like your biceps man its a muscle, if you lift weights, if u train the muscle it will get bigger .thats logic , if it gets bigger it will occupy more space in your belly and take the place of the body fat most of the times, im not saying that its a 100 percent effective but it worked for me.
Hah. No, you'll get big abdominal muscles under a sheath of fat. The muscle doesnt replace the fat, both can coexist quite happily.
if u read what i post it will get more clear, maybe i didnt explain myself well(english is not my first language) "dont eat a lot of carbohydrates, run a lot and do sit ups thats the key right there" maybe i should put a period after sit ups so the phrase "thats the key right there" it wouldnt be just for the sit ups but also for the carbohydrates and the road work.
Several ways. You can get the pinch check where you have your body pinched in four main areas. You also get the DYI things - most gyms have them. Here is a link. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/acc/fattrack.html
roadwork is great. However if your diet is crap then its gonna be a whole lot harder. Add workouts to your weekly routine and improve the diet. Drink lots of water. Diets are an individual thing though, someone else's diet that worked great for them might no work for you. Don't be dis-heartened if you can't see progress, switch your routine or improve it, it takes time mate.
