So they have to be light heavyweights or cruiserweights at least?

I think his point is that it's H2H. While I do think that exceptional smaller guys could likely beat some more mediocre bigger guys, they're going to get wrecked by good bigger guys. Duran ain't beating Louis, although I'd bet on him over B-level MWs.

At cw I think he beats many of them yeah. Gotta be the favorite over toney obv but i think its a tougher fight than when they met at 168 since toney struggled to make weight and Jones would be slowed down from bulking up.

Good list we pretty much have same names

i can see your case for rating charles above Marciano, since a 1940s Charles was something special but I just think Marciano always would have gotten to him late. What Charles would have made up in speed and movement he would have lost In durability in size at only 175lb.

i like walcott over Moore. Moore never would have been able to do as well vs Joe Louis and walcott did better vs Charles and Marciano than Moore did

Sure, these two are extremely close.
We don't know if Moore wouldn't have done as well as Walcott against past prime Louis. I also think Moore did reasonably well vs Rocky, given that he wasn't at his best anymore. These are styles related as well. Moore wouldn't struggle against Layne and he did much better against Maxey than Walcott.

Louis was still devastating in 1946-1948 throwing Lethal fast 4-6 punch fight ending combinations vs mauriello walcott and conn.
Do you see Moore surviving this version of Louis? I don’t. Walcott in my peoples eyes, won the title in first fight vs Louis which would have been an all time historic win ending a 23 title defense reign

was Moore any more declined vs Marciano than walcott was? Both were 38 years old. Moore had recently gone 45-1 in his last 46 fights! Moore had cleaned out the heavyweight divisions top contenders and knocked out two hall of famers in light heavyweight title defenses. After the Marciano loss, he would reign for another 7 years and only lose 3 fights. Can’t think of a time where he would have been more prepared

both floored Marciano. Walcott won 8 of the first 11 rounds while Moore was behind on scorecards vs Marciano and ready to go in 6th. Walcott was still battering Marciano in the 11th and 12th

Ultimately walcott was the naturally bigger man than Moore. He won the heavyweight championship on a one punch knockout over a man Moore was 0-3 against. He arguably won it twice but was robbed on a poor decision. Moore never came close to winning the heavyweight title getting knocked out in both opportunities while behind on scorecards

Moore did better vs Maxim, but it should be noted walcott beat Maxim twice in rematches and the first fight AP scored the fight for Walcott by 3 rounds and called it a “stunning decision”

Rex Layne..well moore never fought Layne so we can’t speculate. Layne did manage to beat charles as well 1 time in 3 opportunities, better than Moore did. I pick Moore over Layne but this fantasy result doesn’t make me rate him above walcott head to head

I think walcott cleaned out the heavyweight division in 40s as cleanly as Moore did in the 50s and walcotts performances Vs heavyweight champions (Charles Louis Marciano) far outweighed moores performances vs his heavyweight champions

i think walcott was bigger hit harder was a better mover and just as clever and fast at his best than Moore
