I am excluding HW because they aren't required to stay in tip top shape and make weight and that plays a big role IMO. I mean could George Foreman have made any weight limit? So below the HW division, which fighters have fought at a very high level at a very advanced age? Has anyone done it better than Hopkins?
The thing is that Hopkins started late which turned out well for him, all the guys who started early end up with alot of problems with their bodies, mostly their hands. He's probably the best exapmle, but RJJ impressed the hell out of me with how fast he still was against Tito.
:smoke LARRY HOLMS stayed pretty formidable well into his forties ! in fact he retained more late effectiveness then any heavyweight i can remember ! ( GEORGE for me was a durable one punch wonder late in his carreer ) :good
B-Hop then everyone else.... and that's not factoring in if B-Hop beats Joe C..... if that happens that will be just amazing at his age....
Roy Jones just fought a Hall of Famer at 39 and fought Tarver for a world title in 05 when he was 36. He will probablly fight for a world Championship agian when hes close to 40.
Not too many names mentioned. How special is it that B-Hop, at MW and LHW, is still fighting at a P4P level? I mean that's pretty much unheard of right?
Yeah, but he STOPPPED fighting at an ELITE level at the age of 35. After Ruiz, he has not been a P4P fighter.
