Better card overall than the UFC last night without a question.

 

Goiti Yamauchi vs. Adam Piccolotti - 3 rounds at Lightweight.

 

Relentless stuff from Yamauchi! Pulls guard with an early arm in guillotine attempt, it's deep and only 20 seconds into the round with both guys dry - Piccolotti somehow escapes but finds himself trapped in a deep armbar, that he escapes too and they return to their feet where he akwardly hops on 1 leg to fence and Yamauchi tries to drag him to the mat. From there Yamauchi controls him before suddenly hopping on his back and sinking in a deep rear-naked choke - it's deep and Piccolotti falls to the canvas where he fights it for a few more seconds before finally tapping! Rear-naked choke for Yamauchi in an incredible performance!

 

That was one of the best pure BJJ performances I've seen in a long time... Great chaining of submission and relentlessness from Yamauchi.

 

Aaron Pico vs. Justin Linn - 3 rounds at Featherweight

 

Wow that was brutal! clinical wrestling and ground and pound beatdown before returning to the feet and knocking Linn STIFF(his head hit the fence on the way down)

 

That's a KO of the year contender for sure.

 

Roy Nelson vs. Javy Ayala - 3 rounds at Heavyweight

 

10-9 Nelson close

 

Nelson over the last year or two seems to have had a rough time pulling the trigger, and thus has fallen back on his grappling. At 41 it's not a surprise. At least he's still got good takedowns and control on the mat. But as a KO artist he's pretty much shot.

 

This has turned out to be a surprisingly good fight. Both fatties showcasting surprisingly decent stamina.

10-9 Nelson. 30-27 Nelson - 29-28 is fine too. Clear win for Nelson in any case. Good performance for a 41 year old with a lot of miles.
