Benavidez is an overhyped weight bully who looked bad cuz he fought a guy his size

Fight looked fixed.. Gvozdyk wasn't even trying.. Benavidez is shite

 

I don't disagree with your assessment with Benavidez, have been saying the same for ages.

But I still don't think the weight bully thing matters. He makes the weight based on the rules of the sport, you might not like next day weigh ins but that's the reality of the sport now and so Benavidez has done nothing wrong in my opinion, it's fighting, you do what you need to do to win, within the rules of course, which is what Benavidez is doing. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

 

Yeah he looked the same in all his come back fights. I said before the fight that he looks like he's fighting in slow motion now, he's lost that speed and ability to change gears. He still has excellent technique so he's still decent but he's a shadow of the fighter he was.

 

That was my take. A guy who knew how to box but couldn't quite pull the trigger.

 

Benavidez can’t even move up one weight class and still be the “monster”? I thought he was going up to cruiserweight soon. Would love to see him fight Opetaia.

This is about where I feel as well I thought he showed some good wrinkles in his defensive game last night the only really concerning thing I noticed was the lack of a work rate and the fact that he tired earlier than he usually does but I said in the build-up that there was a possibility that the added weight might be a problem I'd like to see him compete at that weight again and see if maybe he prepares differently and has better endurance

I've never thought that Benavides was the favorite against Alvarez however I liked some of the subtle things that David did last night and I think he'd at least be interesting though I wouldn't favor him

I think bivol would be a nightmare for him but I like the beterbiev fight

Weight bullying is typically a tactic US fighters use so Pimp doesn't like to talk about it.
