He's been professional for 12 years already.. this guy is called a monster .. explain? He's 30 fights in & doesn't have one standout opponent on his resume.. consider other fighters who turned professional the same year.. Usyk, Joshua, Beterbiev, Lomachenko.. yes Benavidez is younger but people talk this guy up like he walks through everyone past & present.. based on what? He's fought entirely in the US against subpar opposition & is now on the failing PBC roster getting hand fed house fighters & then passed off as some world beater.. didn't look a 'monster' to me against a past his SBD Gvozdyk or the Cuban fella.. I've been looking through the resumes of his opponents & its dire.. both the opponent & their opposition.. Andrade, Anthony Direll, Lemieux.. & hes basically a CW anyway.. overrated AF.

Benavidez was also a two time world champion at 168.

To say he's done nothing is willfully ignorant. Most guys will never have that experience once in their lives, let alone twice.

Youngest 168lb world champion of all-time, at age just 20
    2-time WBC champion at 168lbs
WBC interim champion at 168lbs while Canelo was undisputed and ducked him for years
WBC interim and WBA regular champion at 175lbs while Beterbiev is undisputed and locked up fighting Bivol twice
His past 5 fights are: Lemieux, Plant, Andrade, Gvozdyk, Morrell - not all killers, sure, but one of the most solid recent 5-win streaks in boxing today. And leagues better than Canelo's most recent 5 fights.

I wouldn't say Benavidez is bona-fide elite yet but for someone who voluntarily takes hard opponents, he doesn't deserve all these critical threads. I notice it's mainly Canelo fanboys trying to talk down on him.

There's a big difference with all those fighters you mentioned they all had extensive Amateur backgrounds.

Where as Benavidez only had 15 Amateur fights so comparing his progress to the likes of Usyk, Beterbiev, Lomachenko, who all had over 300 Amateur fights is a bit silly quite honestly.

I don't get why all these people are hating on Benavidez he's taking risks and coming along nicely in his career and has a very exciting style fans are so fickle it's truly baffling.

Well I mean he's been the number 1 contender at SMW since 2018 l, it's just the champion wouldn't fight him.

He's now the number 1 contender at LHW hoping to get his shot.

His resume isn't too bad, he just can't convince a champion to fight him.

It’s a combination of Canelo fanboys, Beterbiev fanboys, and Bivol fanboys that are acting out their insecurities.
Where boxing fans see the possibilities for great fights to be made, they see danger to their crush from someone who is already stealing some of the attention that rightfully belongs to their man.

He's no where near CW. Morrell looks bigger than him, taller and more muscular. Benavidez doesn't have a big upper body and he's not even that tall at 175. He can still make 168.

It's not his fault that Canelo has held the division hostage for years without fighting any good opponents, while the corrupt alphabet organizations allow him to do it.
