Same. Its one of those things where those of us picking Benavidez ended up making a bold statement we didn't know we were making lol. 4 votes out of 65 jesus.
https://wbcboxing.com/en/wbc-status-by-division-february-2025/ Dimitry Bivol must fight David Benavidez next. You are actually right, it´s not official, but it´s as close as it can be.
@Ike His Excellency wants to do business with Uncle Al Haymon and he invited Benavidez to Saudi. I personally think Bivol match up is a good one for Benavidez who is a very good boxer who fights at fast pace. A lot of people think it’s just Benavidez size and him being the Mexican monster but he is actually a very good all round well educated boxer who will be difficult to beat.
Anyway I think both fights are available for Bivol. As for Beterbiev I think his only chance of really beating Bivol in a 3rd match is by stoppage which is almost impossible. After 24 rounds in the ring it’s pretty clear that Bivol is the better boxer and Beterbiev cannot just have his way with him as he does with others.
I am sure DB will be happy to take the fight in the KSA though I would love it in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena or at the TMobile Centre.
I have also heard reliable reports that Benavidez hurt Bivol in sparring. It does not mean anything until the meet up in a real fight.
Turki Al-Sheikh is doing really well and we boxing fans are seeing important boxing events, it is right to recognize it. I hope he can collaborate with the PBC to have Davis - Stevenson which would be a very interesting match.
The reports I heard were from Benavidez himself, he said that Bivol hits hard, but he got the better of him and was confident of a result 'for realz'
Would be good though Tank really does not ned the Saudi money so His Excellency will need to deep digger into his pockets.
Benavidez is a lighter hitting chinnier cut rate version of Beterbiev, Bivol dismantles him with relative ease.
