Great first fight at the weight even though gvodyzk ain’t what he was pre retirement.

I can see gvodyzk giving benavidez real problems though biggest puncher benavidez has been in with. But can gvodyzk live with benavidez’s pressure down the stretch

Perfect for Clenelo to get him to cut down to a drained 168 in 2025.

They're overestimating how good Benavidez is here, this is a terrible banana peel of a match, if The Nail is even 1/2 as good as he once was, he tears La Bandera Rojo to shreds. Gvozdyk stops him in 8.

Gvozdyk is no joke if he comes prepared. I don't know how much Beterbeiv beat out of him, but if he regains his form from the Stevenson fight, he gives Benavidez hell.

How does this affect his ranking at 168? Didn't Sulaiman recently state that Canelo will have to defend against Benavidez this year. Why would Benavidez move up to 175 in June, if he's in position to get the Canelo fight in September?

Benavidez is accustomed to being taller, longer and physically stronger than his opponents. He will not have these advantages against the Nail. If Gvozdyk is still in decent shape he should outbox him comfortably.

I'm more concerned about the layoff. 3 years out of the ring in your 30s means ring rust.

Benavidez should be fighting at 175 period. I’m not sure why he’s bothering to be at 168 anyways for a guy that’s like 200 lbs outside of the ring.

Gvozdyk had 3 fights last year, low level opponents but he's been quite active.

He actually fought 3 times in 2023. Not against world beaters, but he's been busy.

He's definitely older now, but if he comes fully prepared, Benavidez is in for a fight.

Ricards Bolotniks, his second opponent since returning, who Gvozdyk stopped in 6, I'm not 100% sure he doesn't spring an upset on Benavidez.

Bizarre, I guess he’s got tired of waiting for Canelo. This is not an easy fight and if Gvozdyk is anything like the guy who beat Stevenson and fought Beterbiev, he beats Benavidez. Neither guy touches the big two though for me, they are on another level.

The difficulty of continously making 168 has to factor in. No reason to hang around the sm division if you can get a payday with the cash cow.
