You are confused. He might finally become his official mandatory, one year after Suliman promised, but that does not mean the fight has been ordered. Suliman refuses to order the fight so becoming official mandatory means nothing. March would have been the dead line if he was made mandatory when he beat Plant, which is what Suliman pledged at the WBC convention in 2022, but of course he lied.

Its strange how Canelo fan boys keep saying they know this when apparently nobody ever bothered to tell Benavidez. The narratives you clowns create are hilarious.

Why wouldn't he fight Munguia now? That's the biggest money fight for Benavidez after Canelo.

Why would Benevidez fight Gvozdyk in a highly risky fight when he can fight Munguia for much more money in a equally risky fight.

Dude, he's already the mandatory. He's been the official mandatory since March 2023 when he beat Plant.

March 2024 is Canelo's deadline to commit to a fight with Benavidez.

In one week Canelo was going to either announce a fight with Benavidez or be stripped of the WBC title.

Why couldn't Benavidez wait one week? That's the strangest part.

I think Benavidez didn't think he could be 100% at 168 to take on someone of Canelo's caliber, or Al Haymon is making his moves.

So Benavidez has been on Canelo's radar for a full year now? Nice. Why has he speng that past year dismissing him as a potential opponent and avoiding any semblance of negotiation? Why did he just drag someone up two weight classes, and why is he trying to now fight that person's semi-retired brother for substantially less than he would make against Benavidez? Why must we wait for 2025 if Benavidez has been on his radar since 2023?

Man I have not seen so many triggered Canelo fans in a long time. Benavidez fighting at 175 has no bearing at all on his standing and work he has done at 168. He wants to keep busy while Canelo contemplates on fighting him. A win or lose at 175 doesn't change anything for him at 168. Did Canelo's lost at 168 change anything for him at 168? Nope. So why the double standard and crying about a guy staying busy, fighting one weight class higher??

edit: I wanted to add that this is a genius move. He stays busy and if he lose , so what. He is still the mandatory at 168

Benavidez got on Canelo's radar when he positioned himself as the mandatory by beating Plant last March.

Canelo has a three fight deal with PBC.

Which three fighters does PBC have that can generate the most revenue and also add to Canelo's legacy?

Realistically only three offer one or two of those things. Jermell, Jermall, and Benavidez.

I have been saying that Canelo was going to fight the two bros first, and save the best for last.

I've said that multiple times, and most of us with half a brain or more knew this would be the case.

Why would he fight the toughest opponent of a three fight deal first or second? Then his last fight with PBC wouldn't generate as much interest.

I'm interested in knowing why Benavidez moved to 175 today when he was one week away from finding out his future with the WBC title.

You aren't interested; you are relieved and your euphoria has you saying all sorts of idiotic things. GBP isn't putting Munguia in with Benavidez when he has Canelo in his sights, so just stop it already. SMH.

Obviously Mungia wouldn't fight Benavidez, he's waiting for his chance at the Red Ped Payday and would get destroyed by David and lose his chance.

Gvozdyk is a great fight for David, but dangerous, having had the most success against Beterbiev so far.

Clenelo still searching for an easy option, as always.

If Benavidez wants to be WBC champ at 168, and also wants a big payday, Jaime Munguia is the next biggest payday.

    Why not try.
