Benavidez has mexican blood. He can afford being tag by Canelo. We need to see thru the false KO artist aura Canelo has. This will likely go to the decision. Do I predict Benavidez will win that decision? Not really. All I am saying is the moment has come for Canelo to face challenges, and prepare his retirement in dignity, like a champion, without ducking.

If he can do that he's got a real chance

No he doesn't. Canelo would use his compactness to his advantage, let sloppy punches fly over the gloves, or block them, while having a lot of body to hit on the much taller man.

One of the greatest matchups in terms of entertainment that can be made right now as both want to come forward, we saw how that turns out for opponents that just come in at Canelo. I see a Canelo stoppage or maybe decision as Benavidez' chin looks decent but what a bout the body.

Canelo will stop Benavidez IMO. Benavidez has never been in with anyone close to Canelo. Ryder is being criminally underrated here he would be a tough fight for anyone at 168 but Canelo is held to a higher standard so fans think he looked bad against Ryder. Canelo didn't use his hook as much probably because he had surgery on his left wrist if he fights Benavidez he should be 100%. Ryder is tough AF and has a solid chin there are not many at 168 that could sustain the punishment he took and Ryder has better defense than Benavidez, Canelo will be detonating bombs on his chin.

Benavidez is too slow for Canelo. Canelo is a great fighter at 160 and 168, 175 is too much for him in my opinon. Canelo's hand speed, and skills will dominate Benavidez.

Be serious. Benevidez had me convinced he was a killer too until he couldn't finish off featherfist Plant. That fight shed a bright light on his real ceiling. I'd even say he got exposed a bit. I'll take the Canelo who brutally stopped Plant and retired BJS, but thanks for asking.

Benevidez couldn't put away Plant. What chance does he have of putting away Canelo?

I don’t think so. Stylistically speaking Canelo’s style would be all wrong for Benavidez.

Yeah, definitely. He’s gonna knock him out the same way GGG knocked him out in the first fight. Okay maybe not, but he’s definitely gonna knock him out like GGG did in their second fight.

    Don't be ridiculous man. Seriously.
He is gonna get knocked out like GGG did to him in the 3rd fight after 36 rounds. Benevidez will probably also drop him to the canvas 7 or 8 times like so many other fighters have. Canelo a chinny MFer no doubt.

    No... he doesn't

Benavidez beat Plant by a few rounds, stopped a fossilised Lemoo and KOd Dirrell. He's clearly talented but comes across as a B-tier light heavy bullying smaller guys

And somehow this^ is not only going to beat Canelo but crack his iron jaw

People dumping on Canelo are outing themselves as major league regurgitators of soc-media talking points. He's lost to the best fighter he's ever fought taking into account skills+weight+youth, dominated the best middleweight in the world who also has an iron jaw and clobbered a guy who has fought at a high level for years and never been beaten that badly... who probably would've been stopped in other countries

The only difference between now and a few years ago is Canelo fallin in love with his power. I have no idea how he's going to beat Bivol, and while Benavidez would be by no means a walkover, I'd still be putting my life on Canelo to get it done
