    26 years since this fight happened wow.I remember watching before I went out on the town short but sweet .ps where has my life gone this fight coincides with sadam Hussain invading Kuwait they said he was only bluffing Ha what did they know.

    I was watching Mercer vs Cooper during that invasion. Right around the same time.. Also a great fight.. Maybe we should only watch boxing when wars are declared !!! LOL.. Benn vs Barkley was a real barn burner and an example of how sometimes the three knockdown rule can interrupt a very good fight.

    Still the most blatant unpenalized late punches I can recall ever seeing in a major fight.

    I always liked Benn's reply when asked about hitting Barkley when he was down: "Because he was trying to get up"!

    Good point.next time iam watching a good fight I must remember to check in the morning whether a war has started.I woke up with a thick head sat morning August 2nd to find Iraq had invaded Kuwait wow a hangover and war started .pass the aspirin.
