Because pro boxers say things about other fighters all the time that are rubbish. Pro boxers picked Lacy to destroy Calzaghe, they were wrong.
Pro boxers like Foreman have said Lennox Lewis is the best heavyweight ever, I disagree.

Just because you compete in a sport does not mean you judge everyone in the sport better than anyone else. Plenty of the top coaches in any sport were never world class performers in that sport, but they still understand the game better than numerous pros playing it.

How many pros and ex pros picked Pavlik to smash Hopkins to bits? A lot. Why didn't they see the huge gaps in Pavlik that myself and many many other posters had written about for months?

it is hypothetical but the hypothesis can never be tested really. I think saying something 'will never be known' is a valid point in an argument when people believe things in their head are fact when they have never happened (you see it a lot on the forum) which is why i really dont bother to engage too much with this forum.

My argument is that Benn has a valid viewpoint (almost an authority but not fact as it never happened) on him vs Calazaghe and if his view is not in agreement with anyone elses here it does not equate to him being mentally impaired in any way.

So you think that saying something "will never be known" in a hypothetical discussion is a valuable comment to make?? :patsch

Erm, I think that's kind of implied in the "hypothetical" part mate.

"A valid point"? Yeah, superb. Thanks.

There is no way on gods green earth that calzaghe would have beaten hagler. hagler would have walked through him and stopped him in rounds 8-10. The hopkins who beat trinidad, and the roy jones who beat toney and hopkins would have beaten calzaghe with ease. A prime toney would have beaten calzaghe too. Prime Mcclellan would have also beaten him.

calzaghe, very good fighter, exceptional workrate, and volume of punches, but came in an era when there was little or no real top class competiton for him. Its comparable to lennox lewis in the heavyweight era, beat a washed up tyson, holyfield, and a few other B-level operators.

I dont agree with Benn on this one.

Let's see if in 18 years time..

People are still talking about any of Joe Calzaghe's fights....i highly doubt it.

The 9th round was hardly a knock down...if i remember right.

I don't know why people act like Eubank was some old man. He had just turned 31 years old before the fight with Calzaghe.... People LOVE to rewrite history everytime a top fighter gets beat.
