Yes I was so wrong about my list that nearly everybody has Collins last. There is quite a big difference between him and the others hence how this turned out.

Hardly at simular points in their career's benn had already lost to malinga before he picked up the two collins loses and eubank was not the same fighter after the second watson fight.

So to be past it as a boxer at age 30 is alright is it?? Thats the fighters fault and therfore he should not be regarded as any higher than a fighter who has beaten him twice.
So theoretically by your argument a boxer could totally dismantle his frst 20 opponent (tomato cans), then have 2 or 3 good wins against good opposition, but the second he loses against a supposed inferior technical boxer he is deemed past it!? Thats bull**** in my opinion, you dont know how fighters will do against each other until you get them in the ring together...

Its a similair argument that those people make who say that Tyson was the greatest heavyweight ever because in his 3 year prime he would of KO'd any heavy of any generation. Doesnt make him better in the long run though does it??

Your right about that, he's the only one who has defeated two of them twice....

in the twilight of their careers though....how many good wins did he rack up after them? I dont recall Collins being around much after that.

    For me its easy -

    Calzaghe
    Benn
    Eubank
    Collins

    Calzaghe
    Benn
    Eubank

    Collins
The difficulty is who to rank higher, Benn or Eubank, I think Benns resume is slightly better, Eubank of course has Benn and Watson on his, Benn doesn't... but Benn really won the rematch.
Collins of course got their names when they were on the decline, but talent wise, and prime for prime, he shouldn't be in there with them.

    P.S

Benn and Eubank had been in some huge wars, and suffered psychological hits with Watson and McClennan, which took years off their careers, so to look at their relatively young age is stupid.

Face facts steve collins lost to most of the best guys he fought and got eubank and benn when they were on the slide, still good wins over both fighters but certainly not prime. You seem to think that fighters are exactly the same no matter what age or what fights they have had:nut.
In regards to prime tyson obviously he isn't the greatest heavyweight ever but to say lewis would beat him in his prime based of their fight is stupid as it has no corelation.

they are not all british though and benn and eubank are english so why would the welsh and the scots support them, its funny this thread came up after the football one as it just shows my point again. Just like richard dunne pretty much everyone doesn't rate steve collins like you but because he is irish he has to be better.:rofl
