So Hearn and Benn are now acting like the WBC are the only ones who count when it comes to deciding his innocence. Apparently VADA can't be trusted and UKAD and the BBBofC don't exist. Absolutely laughable and shameful how these two scumbags have conducted themselves.
Very possibly, but if it was that easy why haven't other fighters done this ? I don't know the answer, I'll be very curious to see how this goes. Might have a google to see if anything similar happens in athletics ....
The cynic in me would say 2 things - Canelo did in fact serve a ban that was convinient to him Canelo was never in danger of the WBC implementing a proper ban or investigation bevause he is the cash cow
Arrgghhh, my apologies ! I had started to reply to post re Canelo and then decided against it, and then replied to a different post, but what I'd typed up in the first one remained in my reply. I then deleted the half reply Canelo bit !! Hope that made sense. I'm not going to suggest Canelo has never taken PEDs ort anything like that, or that he's not too important to the WBC. But I thought he put up a reasonable defence re clenbuterol, it is in Mexican beef, he was served it at a restaurant (yeah, OK) , he provided hair samples to support not term use. And the WBC then changed the acceptable level of clenbuterol to reflect the content of Mexican beef. All a bit different to the approach of Mr Benn.
No problem pal, tbh im not a Dr and i cant get in to the nuts and bolts of it all. I can just say when i see something that looks suspect and Benns case does. However my opinion of PEDs has changed over the last few years to the point nothing woupd shock me.
This has probably lived in my head longer than it has any right too but seeing the runpurs he took his sisters (?) Fertility pill thinking it was a paracetamol. Im not a professional athlete and i am 33 years old to the best of my knowledge i have never taken acidentally taken a different medication, pill, spray etc. Can this even be a genuine excuse at the end of the day ?
It's hilarious, he is a drugs cheat. Junior has been right, best thing for him to do is own it and play the villain when he returns from a 2 year ban
There should be zero tolerence imo, acidentally took something ? Ok two year ban. If you cant track everything that goes in your body for your livelihood maybe you shouldnt be a professional fighter. Im just cynical to it all, even fighters like Tony Bellew who i dont believe is a drug cheat as he has been so vocal against it, if it came oyt he failed a test id be suprised but now shocked
Even if he did take something by accident, he has an illegal substance in his body and should be suspended. For example in tennis something like this happened with Maria Sharapova and she was banned for 1-2 years.
She played the old I didn't know routine though and got the 2 year ban reduced by 9 months. And she'd been warned 5 times the meldonium was going to be banned
He didn't look good enough to win a Southern Area title at one point. No chance anything was accidental for me.
