Perhaps there should be the default position where an automatic life ban kicks in from the date of failed test.

This along with the right of an appeal hearing within a maximum of 6 months gives the defendant plenty of time to produce all his/her evidence.

Then the ban is either upheld or amended and a line drawn.

Benn only wants massive/important fights, so if he fights "checks notes" 47yo retired Manny Pacquiao no need for it to be sanctioned by any of the alphabets, and if they offer a random nations board enough cash they'll sanctioned the fight.

    It's such a joke.

Eddie Hearn is a cancerous rat.

The fact Benn is calling out Pacquaio and genuinely thinks Manny has any idea of who he is shows how deluded he really is.

The guy is a disgrace. The fact he was juicing while adding the weight stipulations show the scum he really is.

Has really left a bad taste this one

Truly the only way out with any dignity (though i think we are past that point) is claim it was a genuine mistake and take the ban on the chin, as said before how one, especially a professional athlete, can accidently take someone elses medication is beyond me. I cant think of a single time ive been after a paracetamol or iburprophen seen a loose pill and thought "oh well good enough"

That seems like common sense. So sadly it will not come to fruition.

Especially as a professional athlete. His blasé attitude to the first failed test of well I’m not taking anything so I’m fine is just ridiculous. If you failed a test and you were innocent you wouldn’t be brushing it under the carpet, you would be going mad trying to clear your name! Then you fail again and repeat. It’s just laughable.

Like you said. Own up to it. Be honest. Say it was a mistake and take the punishment.

Its disgusting all of this and setting boxing back. I seem to remember a fighter (cant remember his name, hopefully one of you lot remind me) who was domestic level got a ban for cocaine in his system at such a small amout an independent Dr said its possible he could have it in his system from the amout of notes he collected in pubs for ticket sales and he still received a multi year ban. My argument isnt wether it was right or wrong but the hypocrisy.

So the WBC are now the be all and end all when it comes to deciding Benn's innocence? Laughable.

What authority and scientific expertise do they have that suddenly takes precedence over VADA, UKAD and the BBBofC? Is Mauricio Sulaimán in the WBC labs reanalyzing Benn's sample, ready to declare that it was in fact some dodgy eggs that caused two failed tests? I'd love for the powder puff interviewers to put this to Hearn, but we know they won't.

The WBC are just an alphabet org at the end of the day who put on fights and the fact Hearn is happy to try and pull off a stunt like this shows how unscrupulous he is and what a joke boxing is. It would be like an athlete failing tests at the Olympics and them having a manager who tries to get ITV to declare them innocent, totally bypassing the IOC and WADA, and carrying on as normal.

No VADA have provided the evidence to the WBC and have been corresponding with the WBC to oversee the report provided and evidence.

the WBC are the ones that will be passing the relevant sanction as it was a VADA test that fell under the jurisdiction of the WBC

I just wish boxing in this country was properly regulated.

But maybe this whole debacle will raise a few heads in the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and they’ll bring in some changes.

Or maybe that’s why the Board haven’t caved in yet, maybe they’ve had a few quiet words of support from the powers that be.

Nobody outside of boxing wants to get involved in governing it. It's the biggest shitshow of a sport on planet earth.
