Are VADA going to comment on this? Doesn't matter if it was Matchroom, BBofBC or WBC who paid for their service, Saying the test is faulty or incorrect is a pretty strong statment considering the amount of attention this whole saga has generated. If I was at VADA, I'd feel obliged to settle it in court.
It isn't necessarily just VADA, it is the actual lab that they used which will be a worldwide respected lab across multiple fields, not just drug testing.
I dont think anybody is requesting as such To my understanding this WBC ruling will be the first failed test And the second should be investigated by the british board (better late than never they have opened an investigation) Why won't they send the huge document over to them if they have nothing to hide? Nobody comes out looking great of this but the WBC is most likey the most dodgey of the lot and you imply that's all thats needed is thier validation Hearn is lying through his teeth in that interview
I'm not saying all they need is the WBC. I'm saying the BBoC have no more credibility than the WBC so what's the difference? For me it's too late for the board to try and play judge and jury. They knew of any failed tests and were in no rush to get the fight cancelled. Instead of asking to be involved in this process they should be explaining why they mishandled the Situation prior to the fight and why it took them weeks to eventually say they wanted no part of it.
Like i say, nobody comes out looking rosey Difference is, why assist one organisation and not the other? Whats the motive here?
The board didn't show themselves in a good light and criticism is warranted. However, the critical point here is that the Board is the best we have. The closest thing to the fully independent, well resourced, competent, incorruptible ideal administrative body that sadly exists only in conjecture. The casual fan probably thinks differently but you know what the WBC and the other belt sanctioning bodies really are. Commercial organisations that exist to make money. That motivation informs all their actions and hey, everyone wants to get paid so there's a place for that, but this is a case where that commercial influence is potentially very dangerous. Unfortunately all that approach does is give Benn and co a free pass. There can be a time after for an inquest and inquiry into how this came about and when that happens I'd really like to have a hotshot legal mind asking some searching questions about any pressure that was brought to bear and where that pressure came from. However, first things first and that means Benn and his team answering to the Board and UKAD and not using WBC's ranking process as a way of swerving genuine external oversight.
Also willing to give the board some leway because I imagine Matchroom and Team Benn both knew they have them over a barrel financially. So I imagine they made it impossibly difficult for them.
Clearly Hearn and Benn are not happy with the board and the board don't have any power to make Benn do what they ask. I do believe regardless what the WBC say ukad should also give an opinion on whatever the ruling is and also get to see all the details to try and resolve why Benn passed there test and not the vada ones.
They don't need to be happy , but with nothing to hide its a bad look when you don't co-operate regardless of the truth
