From a different article, he has an occasional omelette A typical day of food for me is a protein option like seabream, salmon or prawns with some carbs like egg noodles, rice, sweet or baked potato. And then obviously veg: broccoli steams, vegetable stir fry. Then some 0% yoghurt with granola. Sometimes an omelette
So what we learnt yesterday, the 270 page document was purely based on the VADA tests being tainted, WBC have said no this isn't true. Team Benn then send them an email essentially saying "I eat loads of eggs" and the WBC have gone "right that checks out". We've heard months of Benn has evidence that has the world terrified, and it's all been settled on eggs, eggs that legally cannot even have Clomid in in the UK. The sport is a ****ing joke.
How Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn have prepared for war | British GQ (gq-magazine.co.uk) I actually think Conor's biggest crime of all is being an I like a well-done steak kind of guy.
I’m actually surprised Hearn can conduct an interview about Benn eating too many eggs as the reason he failed 2 doping tests without bursting out laughing tbh. It’s impressive. They are being ridiculed all over the internet. I’m assuming Hearn and Benn had some sort of meeting where they went right this is the excuse we’re going with. And genuinely thought it was a good one. The lack of self awareness is astonishing really. When you’ve got Dominos pizza sticking the boot in that should probably wake you up to the fact that maybe blaming eggs probably wasn’t the best of ideas..
Problem is, for as shite as the excuse is, is it their only bullet? If his wife isn't using clomid, they cannot pull that excuse. So maybe this was literally the only remotely possible defence.
I've never heard such BS as this excuse...claiming the clomiphene was in the hens eggs he was eating in extraordinary quantities. Lets debunk that right way - chickens in the UK are not treated with clomiphene except for medical reasons as its a controlled prescription-only veterinary drug. If we are expected to swallow this excuse (pun intended), then Benn's been buying eggs from an unreliable/illegitimate source - and that's his responsibility. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1991/1392/schedules/made To back this up, he'd need the supplier to produce medical records/prescriptions for the clomiphene that was administered to the chickens. Not gonna happen, cos it doesn't exist.
True. But people would be a bit more lenient if he just admitted it. They are both making themselves look like complete fools. The guy who did the interview yesterday was just overjoyed at being in Hearns mansion and had 0 intention of actually asking any difficult or probing questions. I know Simon Jordan isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he’s the only person who would stick it to Hearn. He doesn’t give a **** if it makes him unpopular.
What is the source of this "30 eggs a day" people keep quoting? Article in the times today states "The 26 year old will still not be allowed to fight in the UK, despite the Worl Boxing Council saying his diet of '30-34 eggs a week' was to blame for adverse findings"
Don't know if it's true or not but read on Twitter that the 270 page document was to try and prove that the failed VADA tests were down to contamination not eating eggs. And, if true, WBC didn't agree with it so they came up with the egg excuse instead
The 270 pages is all about VADA testing it seems. That's been knocked back, so they just sent an email saying "I like to eat eggs" and it's now all been cleared up
It's 30-40 a week like the quote says tbf. But that just makes the excuse of contamination from chickens being fed clomid even more ridiculous. No one with a functioning brain believes this bs.
I think that's what the evidence they had that had everyone terrified was. It's ludicrous. People need to vote with their feet and not watch him. If he has to "reduce his egg consumption" I can see him having the biggest payday fight going. Then just get splattered
