It bombs on PPV. The public has roundly turned against Benn and can't stand him. The price point on DAZN will be ridiculous as well. Who wants to be pay 24 quid for this fight?
I hope it does crash badly, but some may pay to watch in the hope they see him get his face caved in.
You guys have to get out of your bubble. The public hasn't turned against him. On the contrary, he is at the top of his fame right now. First Piers Morgan, then possible Pacquiao fight. Everyone's gonna talk about Benn and he will go to make millions on PPV fights.
I never realised getting interviewed by Piers Morgan makes you at the top, two absolute twats together if you ask me pal, and i am not alone in saying that, the majority of the public can not stand that rat Morgan either.
This seems like a comparison to Mike Tyson coming off prison sentences, where he's a bit of a freak show but happened to be the best in his class before that. Benn was never anything in the first place so being a "baddie" doesn't automatically make him sell tickets. At best the mainstream media will cover his fights more than before, the likes of Bunce will dutifully cover the big comeback, and all of that might produce a better crowd / PPV sale. Benn on his own was never going to earn it though.
I see that idiot Frank Smith going on about Pacquiao vs Benn being a "huge fight". Translation: any Pacquiao fight is huge; Benn is riding the coat-tails to try and establish a comeback. Benn presumably does OK against a 44-year-old politician, his own stock has risen and he could fight someone like Broner with more upside. No doubt Pacquiao only happens with UAE or Saudi money in the first place and PPV doesn't really matter.
This. The fact that Connor Benn was talked about non stop since the fight was postponed says something. You find another boxer at the same level and after a 1 week people wouldn't give a damn. Rightly or wrongly people will tune into Benn fight.
Matchroom formula of feeding their house fighters shot to pieces old name fighters is a busted flush. That said Hearns junior will be licking his lips at the prospect of all these shot to pieces old name welters from another era to feed to that little runt with his dippy eggs on toast; Pacquiao Broner Brook Porter Thurman Guerrero Victor Ortiz Berto Khan Katsidis Gavin REESE “Line em up and we’ll knock ‘em down koogs. Make no mistake. This kid is sugar ray Leonard like Aj was Muhammad Ali do you understand what I’m saying to you?”
Benn against a faded 45 year old tiny Pacquiao, for no doubt PPV money, while actual decent pros, toil for peanuts. This world is nuts. If there's any justice, Pacquiao pulls out a vintage left hand, and saves boxing from this entitled, totally dislikeable manchild. Oh, and I wouldn't pay to watch it either.
Imagine if it happens and Manny schools him, it would be one of the most beautiful things the sport cold offer us right now. Manny vs Benn is something that makes me feel empty inside, it shows the sorry state that boxing is in, I don't think it's ever been worse and I don't know if it will get better.
