For once I don't agree - as little as I want to see Benn fight, if he wins this then we'll never hear the end of it. Casuals will end up watching him in the next one (likely Eubank for a cash-out) and those fights will lead to a third, possibly career-ending over-reach.
The two charlatans have made an absolute fortune without even being near world class. Would not be surprised if he had a fight with Eubank Snr then steps up to fight Joe Calzaghe.
This content is protected 100+ replies to this part of the interview and every single one of them is hammering Hearn and Benn. The good thing is that Hearn is tagged in them all too so he will see them. As spot on as he was about Fury, he's a disgrace when it comes to the hypocrisy of drug use in Boxing. Sorry Edward, you may not want to talk about it anymore, you may want to get the Matchroom cleaners to lift the rug while you sweep it under there, but it isn't going to happen this time.
I've noticed there's been a slight shift from EH in today's interviews in terms of the legal actions etc, he's now somehow putting himself and Matchroom as intermediaries between the board and Conor Benn when he himself was contemplating legal action against the board! Also adding, that all of the media stuff Benn is doing, is off his own back and that he doesn't think it has been wise. Which baffles me more as to why, apart from the obvious financial gain, he wants to put this farce on in the Middle East against Pacquiao.
Eddie wants the million quid he lost on the Eubank fight cancellation plus investment into Con Bent since he turned pro, returned. That's what's in it for him. Once he's made his money, he'll toss him out. Trust me. Eddie despises these kinds of gobby fighters really. He thinks very little of them. You can see it in interviews. He humours them. You can see Eggie being a bit of a bully in certain interviews. Most notably with Kugan/Umar and that nob Parsons.
Watching Hearn and Frank Smiths interviews yesterday has left a dirty taste in my mouth. I love the sport but this is making me turn away from it. The YouTube boxing journalists were awful yesterday with their questions. This is a dark, dark episode for boxing in the UK and Globally. If another board licences Benn whilst his home board hasn't investigated him then drug testing globally will be worthless.
If he boxes again I think we should just ignore him, stick his name in the forum's auto censor and just act as if he doesn't exist. Even posting about how much I despise him, his team and his enablers doesn't seem appropriate if Hearn can spin that into some perverse sense of notoriety. This is a boxing forum and they are anti boxing.
Hearn has been getting worse in my estimation. He's been called "Fast Car Eddie" for a while and I can take him with a pinch of salt, he's a salesman that's good at hyping up his events, some fights deserve it, others are total dross. This whole saga with Benn is a totally different story, he's kept away from any challenging interviews, pointed the blame at everyone else and he's now desperate to get some money back from Conor and willing to put the wheels in motion before any resolution.
I'm beginning to think that benn has served a ban on the quiet hence the June return and not before. I know 2 professional footballers that did this which was covered up by a "injury". They hot to keep it out of public by claiming to be suicidal which benns been letting slip out aswell.
If somebody has already posted this I'm sorry, too lazy to go back through the thread. Anyway if you had any doubt Benn was guilty then watch this (WATCH IT IN FULL) and then tell me you still believe the little scab when he says he is innocent... This content is protected This video just ruins him, absolutely ruins him and explains why he won't give his "evidence" to the BBBofC and won't release it. Benn should be embarrassed and whoever is advising him should be fired.
