This is the part I really don't get, love him or hate him, Eddie is a very good businessman. He may of entered boxing at the start of its big boom but he absolutely capitalised on it with smart signings, clever promotion and big events that drew in a wider audience. He knew his market & fighters that he could develop and build a big fan base through their talent & his promotion.

Conor imo doesn't fit, he has had years to be pushed & built by matchroom & sky, now dazn , yet not only has he not won a British title, but he hasn't sold well. A decent name on an undercard maybe,but as a headline you only have to look at the half full arena he last fought in. With the exception of the 'legacy ' eubank fight there is nothing to suggest he is even close to being a ppv fighter or at world level - despite him constantly acting as if he is. Eddie must see this.

I genuinely don't know why Eddie persists, he's a smart man, he must be aware of the damage this is doing to the sport and why risk damaging his business reputation - the PR by Benn is now almost beyond a joke,genuinely laughable.

He is still referred to in interviews by Eddie as 'kid' - he's almost 27! Not old I agree, but not some naive rookie just starting out. He is 20 fights in & still not won over most fans.....it isn't going to happen.

Hearn is an excellent businessman, I agree and also has been great over the last decade. However, he has hugely screwed up by backing Benn in this ongoing case. I think he genuinely thought because of the family name and after a couple of explosive knockouts he was going to be big box office.

 

Haye to beat Valuev PTS
Audley KO Sprott in rematch (put the bet on after his pec had gone)
Thaxton to win when he fought for Euro title
Thompson to stop Haye

 

This is very true.
Especially the betting part.
Can also be a rubbish poster.

 

I was also confident Haye would win that, even in Germany. Thompson by stoppage was a good prediction.

 

Yeah I never saw the Thompson result coming

 

Anyway, back to debating how awful Benn and his behaviours are. The worst attitude seen in boxing for a while.
