It has changed a lot. 20 - 30 years ago boxers were willing to take a chance and at the same time risk losing a fight. That is no longer the case. Many of the elite boxers today run their own business.

My take for what it’s worth. If you’re on steroids then you know there’s a risk of getting caught. If you do get caught then your previous behaviour will determine how much hammer you get, rightly or wrongly. Benn has acted like an absolute tool his whole career so he must have known he’d get absolutely slaughtered if it got out. Or someone close to him will have known this as Benn doesn’t have much self awareness. Say a Luke Campbell (nice guy, likeable) got caught, people would say ahh that’s a shame but forget about it after a week.
