So the argument now is that Benn has a relatively rare genetic trait, which means chicken and eggs may leave behind a trail of clomiphene which wouldn't happen in other people. A scientific paper has shown it's possible to prove this distinction from people who take it deliberately, and Benn's tests fit into the first, genetic-freak example. So we're back to "eggs" but not eating too many, just having a very rare, benign reaction, and basically making out the tests are faulty because they can't tell human-secreted clomiphene from deliberately-taken despite that being possible. Make up your own minds, just laying out his (current) defence.
Coincidental that it’s only showed up as he’s preparing to take on a middleweight in the biggest fight of his career and not when he was getting lumped around by that Peynaud fella.
The doctor was asked about that, and suggested it was lag time from eating chicken with clomiphene in it. I missed out that detail; that despite this genetic trait, he'd still need to be unlucky enough to eat chicken or eggs with clomiphene in them or it wouldn't manifest at all.
So it’s gone from he hardly eats eggs (in April 2022) to he eats 30-40 a week and now it’s back to ‘actually I don’t have that many, I’ve got a very rare genetic trait‘ … absolute load of bollocks.
"...and the tests caught me at the optimal moment while the system still had unlucky clomiphene in". As I say the scientific paper is plausible, the circumstances and chances of it affecting Benn, less so.
Genetic trait? Hahahaha. What a load of nonsense. They'll be saying he's half chicken/half human next.
Agreed.. I'm laughing out loud at 'rare genetic trait'. Surely this is the endgame though. If they can provide even more absurd egg-related humour then Ricky Gervais needs to be worried about his Netflix slot.
It's got to the point now where whether they 'clear' his name or not, the perception of him is exactly the same. It's hilarious how what was to come out would 'shock boxing' and be a massive revelation, how does that tie in with a genetic trait?
Imagine if he’s on talk shows now raising awareness for overstimulated cholmiphine syndrome and the woke mob lap it up.
He passed a drug test the other day. He also claimed in the times interview that he still eats eggs. Why didn't he spike the other week? He has been a broad a lot recently as well.
