Haven't seen the fight, but heard Benn wasn't exactly impressive, and was possibly knocked down (held up by ropes)????? Any credence on that/his performance? I was hoping he'd get embarrassingly chinned, especially as he was up against an unranked ham 'n egger (sorry). The Silent Whyte will probably get a ban, while Benn seemingly gets a pass, and a payday. I do wonder where anyone would have stood had his opponent got seriously hurt last night....
Go on YouTube and you won’t see highlights or the full Benn fight so it must have been awful last night. I’m sure the guy was ranked 189 in the division on boxrec! Yet he thinks he’s in the mix with the world champs of the division!
They will blame it on inactivity or stress etc but hearns PPV star can’t finish a complete nobody when he’s clean isn’t a good look, going to take some spin to set up the next fight for him. Benns eye was all busted up too.
Benn ‘lit up Orlando’ according to Hearn and the punches from Benn at the weekend were a different level to Eubank v Liam Smith.
They received a small hosting fee to go there. Not like the usual small-hall show. It was actually a great show. 4 fantastic main-card fights. Hitchins is one of the top super-lightweights in the world after his win. He’s ready for the World Titles. One of Matchroom’s better US shows, even Before the Bell action was good to watch. Benn did well considering he’s been out for 18 months. He fought a massive 154 fighter who had only been stopped once. Was similar to his fight against Granados.
Crap then. In all seriousness I said it reminded me of that fight yesterday where if he doesn’t get the opponent out in a few rounds he’s devoid of ideas. His footwork isn’t great and he can’t cut the ring off.
Didn't seem so explosive now he's off the peds did he...against a guy ranked 200 ish on 4 days notice..
A massive 154 fighter who has only had 1 fight at that weight and fought most of his fights below 147.
