I fully expect to see him fight again, does not strike me as a financially savvy kind of guy. Probably be needing some more PPV dough before too long
https://find-and-update.company-inf...U4NWFkaXF6a2N4/document?format=pdf&download=0 His latest accounts up to March 2022 which were filed nearly 17 months late show he's got about 400k in the bank as of March 2022. A provision has been made for an ongoing legal case, for about 600k. £1.1m of dividends were paid to Dillian during the 2022 year. £2.5m is owed to a related party company which I can't seem to find. I think at most he would have made max about 7-8m during his career. Take off tax, vat, expenses and you're left with about half of that as distributable income.
Is there a market for him outside of the UK? Including him on a card hardly looks worth the negative publicity it would draw?
That's before his Fury fight at Wembley though, was he not guaranteed about £8m for that alone? (before expenses, percentages, tax, etc) It also notes the likely costs of defending the legal case were £1.1m the previous year so I'm not sure if that's the provision getting lower or an additional provision on top.
Surely 3 to 4 million pounds is enough to live on comfortably for the rest of his natural life though (assuming I've got the figures right, ish)? It would be for most mere mortals I'd imagine? I think he's been overpaid for his achievements, but blame the game not the player, I've no issue with a fighter making bank , (maybe aside from YouTubers)!
The one thing we can all be confident in, we don't hear anywhere near all drugs fails. So that would be my money
Benn vs Eubank apparently pushed back again. It's like promoting a guy who keeps failing drugs tests is hard
By March 2022 the Rivas stuff was surely long over. Have to assume it's his case against the WBC re the mandatory situation. Vaguely remember statements the build-up to the Fury fight that despite the mandatory being called, he'd been kept waiting too long and was seeking redress.
Eddie Hearn on Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn: “We're gonna move forward and make that fight in the UK. This week we're gonna try and get it over the line for Dec 23rd or January… If we stage the fight in the UK or Kalle Sauerland stages the fight in the UK - hopefully the BBBofC [will be the commission who sanction it] but it's up to them. We want to do the fight in the UK and I think we're gonna move forward and do it.” [ @IFLTV ]
Such a victim is young Edward now. If they had went and got a UK licence and not some random one from the Wild West, it wouldn't be an issue. Also would be easier if your fighter didn't fail so many drugs tests
Hearn, the guy who came along saying he'd do it differently to the rest, certainly is. May yet be remembered as the dirtiest of the lot.
