} I didn't know this. I always thought he didn't mind it and he instead called out the likes of Gary Lineker and Gary Neville who were against it but ended up taking paid roles to be part of the TV team. They're the real hypocrites.
I don't think that's right. He was more they shouldn't have got it but it's gone now so get on with it. The likes of Linekar and Neville who were still complaining about it still took first class flights out there and that's what he had issue with.
The funniest part is if Benn had just admitted his guilt to the board he would most likely be clear to fight by now. But not only that, his reputation would be far less damaged.
He didn't even need to admit guilt. Just blame it on some fake spiking/genetic egg disease and take the ban like everyone else does.
I love how Eddie is now trying to put forward the narrative that they've done everything that's asked of them. Yeah you did it after about a year or so, running away from the board, running to the WBC, using lawyers to try and circumnavigate the rules. After seeing you had no alternative but to go hand in cap to the board and UKAD, you then went and did everything asked of you. (Which I still doubt they did everything.)
In today's media round, Hearn is basically admitting if things persist as they are with the BBBoC then it'll be a Sauerland promotion for Eubank with one of their other affiliated bodies. Presumably the PBA. I think that sums up how desperate they are for the fight to happen.
If they do this, it'd be really fitting if they put it on a Misfits card, preferably on the undercard of KSI v Dillon Danis or some other megafight in that world.
The BBBoC have always known that this is the most likely outcome, so for them to refuse to sanction a fight that hasn't even been made is just posturing and bizarre to say the least.
Presumably if the fight contract has to mention the sanctioning body (which it usually would do) they can't be in that contract without knowing about it. If the fight is due to be signed in the next 2/3 days as Hearn said, surely the Board would have had their say by now rather than "posturing"?
