They are going to be waiting a while. If they hadn't run interference in the process for the past 2 years, Benn could be fighting Eubank now, having served a 2 year ban. Instead they have snuck off and fought 2 no-names in the US for next to nothing, helped Benn destroy his name and NOW face a 2 year ban.
Any ban should start from the date of his last fight. Serve him right for the spin of the past 2 years. How can it be backdated when (presumably) other commissions would have denied him the licence to fight?
I mean if you took this to the conclusion that he shouldn't have been fighting, his last two bouts could be declared no-contests in hindsight. No idea what that would do to the fees and so on (probably nothing) but it's a can of worms.
Absolutely, but I can't help fearing there'll be a 'compronise' backdating it to the original date and they'll overlook the overseas contest in pursuit of an easy life
