BBBofc have probably agreed to an NDA. Conor Bent is such a disgusting piece of sht. Most of us saw right through his whole mental health shtick. And Eddie Hearn the lying baastard. Tries to make out he's all access and gives you the truth raw. No he doesn't. The lanky cuunt embellishes the truth and doesn't like it when anyone asks him a real question.
Eggie needs to be reminded often about how he said Benn Jnr's case would shake the doping test industry.
I personally don't think Benn is serving a silent ban. I think the story is that big (in the UK boxing scene) that if he was serving a ban, that enough people would be privy to it, that somebody would have leaked it by now.
You know something did cross my mind. The next and final level of appeal would be to the Court of Arbitration in Sport, but the UK regulations only allow for that if you are an "international level athlete", otherwise it's the NADP which UKAD already appealed through. Wonder if that's why Benn has been fighting in US dining halls this past year just in case? He was a purely domestic athlete before that, with some imported opponents...
I definitely think that he is serving some kind of (and I dislike the term) silent ban. I wonder how you get your ban to be silent? Having money certainly helps.... I bet they plead that their mental health would be affected and they're having 'intrusive' thoughts about it.
Manny Pacquiao's manager Sean Gibbons mentions Benn in a very recent interview and says something along the lines of 'they told us suspended September.' Not sure if that means Benn is suspended until September? Open to interpretation but the key word Gibbons uses is 'suspended' and if he can't fight Pacquiao at the moment, it sounds like he is serving an international suspension. Not just a UK one.
Well if the BBBoC has said it would suspend him from having a licence, most decent sanctioning bodies would honour that. Saudi shows have been using BBBoC officials so even they wouldn't seemingly entertain Benn if that was the case.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few conversations behind the scenes with the board, Hearn and Conor's team. At the end of the day, the board don't want to be undermined and threatened by Hearn and Benn as well as pay for all the legal fees, Benn wants to box ASAP and not be tarnished as a 'cheater'. I'm sure they struck a deal where Benn will have to serve a back dated ban and all parties will sign NDA's to calm all the negative press. It makes sense as the board get their pound of flesh (even though most of us felt he needed a more severe punishment) Hearn will stop bad mouthing them 24/7. Benn will get to fight soon and not **** any more money on long drawn out legal procedures. Probably not the ideal result for all parties, but this mess has to end somehow and negotiating is the only way to put an end to the whole saga.
I'd say the board come out of it quite well tbh. Despite maybe not getting a big headline, they've well and truly proved their point. Team Benn has spanked loads of cash against a wall. Hearn comes out looking a total charlatan and the board in private and to people inside the industry have proven they do have some teeth. Benn has lost a load of time in his career and money. Hearn has lost a load promoting Benn in bingo halls. It's worked out quite well imo
Hopefully it's sets a precedent going forward. They had to finally tackle one of these, no idea where the funding has come from.
