Me either, but I'm sure it can be whipped up through casuals easily enough. Stick them both on Good Morning Britain again and get Susanna to rub their biceps, people will soon be buying PPVs. I think Hearn has always been right that there's a casual market for this fight even if it's not exactly top class boxing.

The fact the original fight week had a red carpet event (like the "grand arrivals" thing Saudi does) with z-list celebs getting their photo taken with the boxers for their social media, kind of said it all.

Bit harsh there. I know he has his detractors and has undoubtedly behaved at times in a way that does him little credit, but he does seem to be a family oriented guy and there's no way he deserves to be put in the same bracket as the most reprehensible people on the planet, no matter what your opinion of the North Korean system of government.

The date on the most recent WBC rankings is May 9th. From memory, news of Benn's suspension came through on May 10th. This might explain things. Perhaps when the WBC release their next rankings update Benn will be where he should be. Nowhere.

 

Whatever you think of the excuse, it appears Garcia is offering to take a short ban due to contaminated supplements. Unlikely to work but a far cry from Benn and his genetic reaction to eggs…
