We have to hear Benn’s side of the story and not rush to judgement, but first we’ll have to wait for him to think of a story and come out of hiding. Timeline TBC.

 

Looks like Benn and Hearn have realised that the Malcolm X quotes and 'it was only trace amounts' excuses were just making things worse so have finally shut up.

I see the tennis player Simona Halep has also tested positive for an endurance boosting banned drug. No surprises that she like Benn is also dumbfounded at how the drug got into her system. They all have the same carbon copy excuses lol. Would love it for more people to just own it. TJ Dillashaw owned up to taking EPO although obviously he will have used steroids as well no doubt so won’t have revealed the full picture.

 

The judgement is that he’s a dirty little drug cheat.

 

If Benn avoids a ban it’s a disgrace, no excuse will ever change my mind. Even if the board let him off, it’s highly likely it’s because they can’t afford a legal battle. A load of tosh and I’m losing interest in boxing.

 

The bans that boxers get when they fail a test are woeful.

At the highest level they fight once per year. So a 12 month ban backdated which is being discussed in this case, isn’t even a punishment.

The real punishment is that those who fail will be tested more often and some will feel like going clean. That all depends on how advanced their sports science team is. But if you fail a test someone in your sports science team messed up.

 

I’d recommend everyone reads Tyler Hamiltons book about his experience when riding with Lance Armstrong and you’d be pretty shocked at how easy it is to pass doping tests.
