I'm even more confused now. So the dropping of his licence is about an unrelated "miss-conduct" issue and not doping? What the hell is going on?
The point I keep on returning to at the centre of all of this is always- Conor Benn is not actually very good! With that in mind, the time and and also money Matchroom (so effectively Eddie Hearn) has spent on this is still baffling to me, and can only be explained by how desperate he is for the next potential PPV and the how weak the UK stable is excluding AJ. Not saying Frank or Sky are full of potential world beaters either but the point still stands. The questions keep coming for Hearn because of the total mess he has made in the handling of this and how quickly it was exposed, not in spite of it. I think Conor Benn will get a backdated ban, or some sort of retrospective ban license holder or not. The end result of this sorry saga will be we won't see him in the ring in the UK for 12-18 months. So the Eubank Jnr fight now effectively won't happen. The 4 year ban talk is silly though- never was going to happen. It's a first offence and he has thrown a lot of money at this so he will be back in a year or so in the UK. Not sure if financially it even makes sense for Matchroom to let him box overseas under another bodies license under his current DAZN contract, unless he takes a huge pay cut due to the obvious circumstances he is in. The event and fight would be tainted by all of this anyway, and Conor has done himself no favors at all in this process so just starting to fight in the USA for e.g. is far from a done deal. I think image and publicity wise the problems it gives Matchroom is not worth the (minimal) potential gain in keeping Conor active, as I say it again he is just not that good of a fighter and has a pretty low ceiling in my view.
Simon Jordan stole my quote. For the last year, in this forum, I have called Eddie Hearn boxing's answer to the world's greatest liar, Baron Von Munchausen.
Benn will sat that he had clomifene in his system as he was treated for having low testosterone and will say how he had to have a beard transplant as he couldn't grow his own as proof of having low testosterone.
It's irking me how this 'all will be revealed' b*llocks is being lined up like the end of season TV show. If they've concocted a story between them all, let's have it, let's hear what you've got to say and we can make our judgement. 'Hear Conor's side exclusivley tonight at 8pm' - have a day off and give your heads a wobble. Better go, the exclusive is dropping
