A lot of the things Khan says gets some folk going to be honest and I don't see him earning £15+ million in a fight anytime soon.
Haye fought Wlad the same as most the others did. In Haye's own words, "bums that didn't try to win", "bums that came to pick up a pay cheque", "disgraceful bums" etc. He fought exactly the same. In fact, guys like Sam Peter, Ruslan Chagaev and Tony Thompson, actually brought the fight to Wlad more than Haye did. Haye was intimidated as much as the Ibragimovs and Chambers. Haye prove to be the opposite of what he pretends to be.
Shock horror, fighter falls short of pre fight claims :-(...I'm a Doncaster Rovers fan, I get that **** week in and week out.....To claim that Peter, Chag or Thompson did better than Haye is just plain wrong
I hope that that snipe wasn't aimed at me....I picked Wlad TKO 7 with Haye unable to get past Wlads jab.
I'm not saying they did better. But he accused all Wlad's opponents of fighting scared and intimidated and not bringing the fight to Wlad, whereas those THREE went forward more than Haye did. I'm not saying they did better.
I'm not biased. And I TOTALLY AGREE with that Haye's problem was that he wasn't good enough, rather than a lack of effort. But it was Haye who said fighters who end up like that against Wlad are "bums not trying to win", it's not my opinion. And not only did Haye say that, but just about every one of his supporters used that as one of the reasons why Haye would present a better challenge, "he's really up for this and won't let Wlad dictate the fight to him, he's not like the others" etc. etc. Haye ended up looking the same as the others. That's not bias, that's the plain truth.
:good The positive thing that people who rated Haye should get from the fight is that perhaps Klitschko is really very very good, and perhaps the men he beat before were actually quite good too. Haye might well be better than most of them, or as good or better than any of them ..... or he might not. And maybe his performance wasn't even that bad, it's a matter of perspective. But Haye can't escape taking some well-deserved stick for not being what he sold himself as, very loudly, for the last three years. He's harmed himself by setting the public perception of himself as he did.
It was very disappointing fight - by round 9 I was expecting Haye to step up his efforts it came with about 25 seconds to go! He will fight on but will not get the immediate rematch - Vlad will enjoy having him in his pocket for a while. He will have to fight his way back to mandatory maybe and even then will not any where near the deal he got in this fight.
Haye's punch output was a joke. Threw far too little and no straight punches. Shocking performance!!!
I agree with Nigel on Haye chances but he really doesnt deserve a rematch after that performance. He really let us all down The only way back for him is if Chisora beats Wlad, then he beats chisora. But i dont reckon he will fight Wlad then
Hatton today urging Haye to fight on too: I hope he doesnt retire. Id like to see David Hayes name in lights over in Las Vegas. Maybe he should give it a couple more goes, Think Hatton's cosy with Golden Boy. Haye going stateside would be an interesting option, but he does however seem to like to be his very own man.
