What a fight it would have been... This is actually one of my favorite mythical match ups which is sad because they were both prime at the same time.

I think this fight not happening had more to do with politics, and not anybody ducking.... I have seen a hbo video where Roy calls Benn out....

Its a shame really.

 

Benn offered to fight 168 IBF champion Roy Jones in Roy's home town in a unification fight for Benn's WBC belt and even offered to give Jones the entire fight purse but Jones turned the fight down. Not being able to fight Jones was one of Benn's regrets as he explains in his autobiography Dark Destroyer

roy jones is perhaps the most over hyped fighter in history by the american media who covered his ducking up, they still cant admit he ducked so many big name dangerous fighters
