I'm personally convinced Julian Jackson put the timebomb in him -- Benn then set it off.

Hell of a fight. Just occassionally really these sort of fights come along that get you shouting and jumping through the ceiling!!!!

An awful aftermath, and yes he was a scumbag but I wouldn't wish that on him.

I think he underestimated the fight Benn had in him. It was just unthinkable for Benn to go out with a Humiliating whimper ( yes I know the Collins fights bordered on that, but he'd shot his bolt before then)

It's a HUGE STAIN on Boxing. The referee Alfred Asaro is the one who should have recieved BRAIN DAMAGE that night. Without his TOTALLY BIASED INTERFERENCE, that fight ends McClellan KO1. It wasnt the count after the KD through the ropes either:nono It was his blatant breaking and physically pushing off on GM that prevented him from finishing the job with over 2 minutes left in the first. Asaro is s mother****ing DISGRACE of the highest order! May he burn in hell for his actions that fateful evening.:fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire

Take nothing from either Benn or G-Man they fought like fighters are supposed to fight and gave great effort.

After this fight Benn suffered for years mentally. I hope now he doesnt blame himself for what happened. Also I believe Watson carried an injury from the Bodysnatcher fight.

regardless of some of the stupid ref work he still had over two minutes to get benn out of there and failed. once benn started to employ his low bob and weave defence the g-man looked often clueless and couldn't get those booming rights off.

yes the reffing was **** but the g-man still had his chance and blew it. end of ****ing story.

    BULL****!!!!

Asaro made SURE PHYSICALLY that GM couldnt capitalize. Asaro broke him at each attempt to get near and was physically pushing off and squeezing between him. GM created the opportunity and Asaro made sure that Benn survived round 1.

You can say it was fair game AFTER that but there would have been NO GAME after that were it not for Alfred "I'm a biased *******" Asaro.
I hope that **** gets run over by a BUS:good

that's because benn hung on for dear life and smothered the g-man whenever he got in close.

suggesting there would have been no game if the refereeing had gone the way you wanted is a very brave statement considering the way benn came back and punched the ****ing life out of gerald in the second round. like i said, when benn started that bob and weave the g-man looked almost useless at times.

Listen, i dont give a damn WHAT TWO fighters you would put in that same scenario. It was ASARO that physically took action that ENSURED benn's survival in round 1. And that my friend, is terribly ****ing WRONG. It was made TRAGICALLY WORSE given the out come.

I said, take nothing from either fighter in terms of effort. I respect Benn but there's no way on earth he makes it through the 1st without Assholearo.

Right is right and Asaro is upsidedown. Sure fighters take the risk, but GM's tragic injury can be laid directly on Asaro's doorstep.

True, according to sources close to McClellan he was experiencing these kinds of brain problems after the Jackson fight. Problems that were helped along by the repeated rabbit punches(as well as solid shots) from Benn. The referee didn't help either. In fact, as C Money has pointed out, this fight may very well have ended in the 1st if not for that ******* ref. I feel like strangling the ref every time I watch that fight.

yeah course not, benn hasn't got a fighters heart or anything, i mean the ref just stood between them and didn't allow the g-man to throw one punch etc. etc. you keep telling yourself that he stepped between them every 3 seconds and one day you might believe it yourself.

i remember clearly benn being pinned against the ropes again but gerald missing time and time and time again because he couldn't get to grips with benns defensive strategy.

regardless of some shoddy ref work, gerald still had chances to get benn out of there and blew them.

You cannot be serious, typical same old samo.

& wait a minute, he did get out of the 1st round, & wait a minute, oh ****, he just happened to win as well, lucky fella huh.

Yes he was a bit officious but bloody hell so was that clown in the Hatton Mayweather fight.

Sometimes that's what you get. Some refs are **** and some are good and some have plenty of each.

    When after round 1?? SURE!!!

You can talk in pointless circles all YOU LIKE, but go back and watch the first round. Watch as ASARO continually interfered, physically pushed off on GM with both hands. It was BIASED, ILLEGAL, and DISGRACEFUL conduct from a huge piece of DOG**** named Asaro.

Its the truth and is self-evident in the video. I credit Benn for what he did and how he performed and came back. It took tremendous heart to come back. Yet, without the ref? none of that was happening. benn was practically out on his feet and Alfred the *******, physically interfered with GM's rightful opportunity to finish the job.

CLEAN OUT YOU'RE EARS and EYES, I'm not biased against Benn. As I said any referee performing that way with ANY TWO fighters? Should be banned forever from the sport.
