Both tragic events in Boxing. But my question is, were Benn and Eubank the same fighters after these tragic matches. Both fighters seem to lose there "killer instict"
No they werent the same after. Eubank never tried to finish a fight off after Watson and Benn left everything in the ring against Gerald.
Neither were the same, nowhere near. Eubank was the most tragic, because he wasn't at his peak yet. Benn was at his, or even slightly past.
Neither man was ever the same after that. Benn would of probaby still of been outboxed by Malinga though, i thought Malinga won the first fight when Benn was in his prime.
Benn was never the same, but he was already past or near the end of his prime anyway, so it made sense that he would go downhill after such a war anyway. That fight was basically his last hurrah all along. Eubank perhaps too, but IMO he had already showed signs of the laziness/inconsistency that would continue to plague him in his career.
Eubank never went in for the kill after Watson(Collins Knockdown) and Benn gave everything in the McClellan fight(Gerald put a shadow on Nigel's brain) and had nothing else to give.
sad but true! otherwise eubank would have ko`d collins easy!! understandably had a major effect on both fighters! shame cause they were both true world class warriors!!:bbb:bbb:bbb rumour has it roy jones didnt fancy fighting either of them!?./
